Moby Has Passed Away

I posted this in the thread below but thought it deserved its own thread.

I'm saddened to report that Moby (James Carney) lost his battle with liver cancer this morning.

He was a huge and unique talent who made his presence felt in the radio business in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta.

He left Nashville for different markets in the beginning of the 80's and people still remember him to this day.
A sad loss of a normal guy from Crossville, TN that just did things right.

Years ago when I worked as a contractor, one of our clients asked us to come up with a way to do a 2 hour delay of the Moby show for a Mountain time zone station. This was shortly after "Moby In The Morning" went into syndication. Later that same year I had the opportunity to meet him in person at the Country Radio Show in Nashville. Great talent and a very personable man that the industry will miss.
