Mod 102.3 sold flips to Spanish CHR

Wow, some legitimately big radio news here. Stunned that Fuller can afford DRC-FM. Also, Mod 102.3 is still on WPLR HD2, so apparently only the translator was sold. With the scarcity of HD radios and no real marketing push for them underway, I wonder how long Connoisseur will bother with it now that it has no translator to make it available to the 95 percent plus who don't have an HD receiver.

Connoisseur purchased WDRC AM/FM along with the 3 other AMs back in 2014 for $5.6 million. Full Power paid $8 million for WMRQ in 2009 and then $1.4 million for the Davidson Stations in Hartford (990), Springfield (1270/1490), and Providence (100.3 FM) in 2015.

Article says Connoisseur got 8mil for DRC. Not too bad if they paid 5.6mil. Is Red Wolf going to change the format?

RADIO ONLINE | Monday, January 15, 2018 |1:52pm CT

Connoisseur Media has agreed to sell five stations in Connecticut to Red Wolf Broadcasting Corp. for $8 million. Included in the deal are 5kW News/Talk WDRC-AM (1360) and 19.5kW Classic Rock WDRC-FM (102.9 The Whale)/Hartford, 1kW Talk WSNG-AM (610)/Torrington, 1kW News/Talk WMMV-AM (1350)/Meriden and 250W Rock W272DO-FM (MOD 102)/New Haven. Michael J. Bergner of Bergner & Co. brokered the transaction.

Would moving Bomba to a big signal make sense billing-wise, or does even a struggling classic rocker bill better? And what's with Red Wolf? I thought the corporate name had been changed to Full Power a while back.
