Sorry... I was a bit slow on the trigger in deleting the attack thread. Settle down, will ya? If trends in radio continue, ALL OF YOU are going to end up out of a job. So chill!
And, I'm sick of hearing about Joe's cable access channel. Please, no promotions on this board. Joe is supposed to be banned, but he has continually skirted all banning attempts by re-registering over and over using different email addresses. Probably more than 50 in the last several years. This is a blatant violation, and I print it here so all will know, we HAVE tried to keep civility here as much as possible but certain people refuse to behave, at the expense of everyone else. So, in the interest of damage control, I'll simply ask all of you if you're attacked, to report it and ignore the person doing the attacking! If you don't respond, you'll keep the tone on the board a hell of a lot more grown up. One of us will delete the offending post when we get time to check our mail and come here to fix things.
Just simply don't respond to personal attacks. Report them.
DO NOT REPLY TO PERSONAL ATTACKS!
Am I getting through? I know we have some large egoes in here, understandably so considering the market size but dammit people, you're adults. If someone throws a insult at you, can't you swallow your pride and just let it pass? Yes, we Bostonians are born with a chip on our shoulder to be true, but we gotta fix the board ourselves. All the moderation in the world won't do a bit of good if we respond with both barrels at every dumb comment someone makes about our performance on the air. Get a thick skin! You're in radio for heaven's sake!
Do you guys talk about each other like this in the studios? If so, I'm damn sure glad I decided not to push getting a job in Boston and stay out here instead. That's brutal!
I'm not going to participate in a discussion about this (I mean it, don't bother). This is your forum and you guys trash it yourselves with attacks and counter-attacks. My in-box is full of complaint emails about this board. So many flood in, in fact, that if I were to farm this job out it would be a full-time position. We no more than fix one problem then another breaks out. We moderators all have jobs to do you know, so we can't sit glued to the board 24/7.
So, again, just to clarify. You guys want to clean up the board? DON'T RESPOND TO PERSONAL ATTACKS! I'd say DON'T ATTACK, but again, as I've mentioned, there are some who keep coming back after a banning, and I can't control that! I mean, how many different email addresses can one person maintain??? You guys surely don't want us to simply ban ranges of ip addresses do you? half of you'd be locked out from posting in your studios (note to those who don't know... your PD posts here too using the same terminal!)
Alright. Just chill. Talk about something else, like how OLD the I-man sounds on WTKK... Or something else.
Take care all... and don't throw arrows at me or I will ban you. I got a thick skin, but I CAN. And I like banning people since it gives me a power trip (or so I've been told)
So, anyway, be kind to one another and lets talk radio. Thank you.<P ID="signature">______________
