MODERN ROCK 98.7 MESS

OK. You are a brand new station one the air ONE WEEK when a snow and ICE STORM hits. WHY ON EARTH has WLGD only aired ONE....ONE SINGLE traffic report as of 5:22 PM on Monday and we are about to get one to THREE MORE inches of snow tonight...forgive my yelling but these clowns are not even talking abut the storm when ALL other stations are going wall to wall about this storm. ALL WLGD is talking about is their one thousand dollar guarantee if they screw up well mail every listener a check because you screwed up royally. any thoughts? Footnote at 5:29 A Webb said "we'll look at traffic but went into a song instead.....am I losing my mind or do they not have it together over there. Lest we forget it took them a week to get rid of that high pitched squeal from a missing piece of equipment; no one knew what the cause of the squeal was not even most of the staff it wasn't until I facebooked A Webb that I got an answer. The squeal should have been gone before January 3rd. The station plays so little commercials I am wondering how they are going to make it. 5:35 and still NO "look at traffic" no closings no delays no nothing. Music is great but you must keep your listeners up to date. God forbid we have a tornado or hurricane anytime real soon.

5:52 PM A Webb said traffic and weather it was just weather...guess no one cares about the numerous crashes from Wilmington to Jacksonville. Earlier today I40 was blocked. I sure hope someone over on Kerr Avenue is reading this because if I were running Sunrise I would be calling a meeting in the morning to address how things could be handled better during a storm. This is the strongest radio station on the dial signal wise .........there is NO EXCUSE for this.

If you have weather and traffic you stop playing music and break format. The listeners get very upset when a station "breaks format" even though the average listener doesn't even realize it when a station breaks their format. But all the radio people know when a station isn't doing what they're supposed to be doing and there's going to be hell to pay when the consulant finds out about it. And who cares about weather and traffic reports during a snow storm? Those reports are just interruptions Don't you dare give the listerners any reason to tune away, they may discover they can get the music they want on their i-pods, mp-3 players, cd's and all the other alternative sources and this could be the death of music on the radio and we don't want that to happen, do we? No music on the radio? How would ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and all the other leeches make up the lost revenue? And don't forget the soon to be added 'artist's royalties' that our friends at the NAB gave up. The whole house of cards will come tumbling down because of this silly snow storm and all the old geezers wanting weather and traffic reports.

For the weather here's an idea, go walk outside or look outside and see what it's like outside! And for traffic if a road looks backed up, that usually means there's traffic!
