Modesto Radio Museum?

Has anyone heard anything about Pappas Radio and KTRB -- or any other group -- working toward developing a Modesto radio museum? Someone posted in another newsgroup that they thought they heard a mention of it on KTRB, seeking recordings and other materials for it.

UPDATE: Modesto Radio Museum

I'll provide my own update here -- Pappas Radio is planning this museum, according to a message I received from Mike Angelos, the company's VP for Corporate Communications and Property Development.

They are soliciting broadcast recordings and other memoribilia from listeners, but won't make their full plans for the museum public until they are farther along in the planning process.

Cal Purviance, formerly of KTRB, is the president of the museum's board of directors, according to Mr. Angelos.

He's still alive? Wow.

I remember listening to him as a kid on KTRB when I visited my aunt and uncle in Modesto, and he was already a "market legend" then.

He must be in his 80s now?<P ID="signature">______________
