Modesto Ratings FA07

What's everyone's thoughts on the latest ratings? KOSO continues their downward spiral. KMRQ is still the same, outside the Top 10. And where is Pappas Radio's KMPH-840? Still didn't make the ratings. Not even in Stockton. This is similar to KTRB-860 in the San Francisco ratings. Are these 2 stations "Labor Of Love" or what. And it seems that San Francisco's Sports Leader, KNBR makes the ratings and not Citadel's Local Sports KESP-970? If there are any format changes in the horizon for Modesto, My guess is it'll be KOSO, KMRQ or KMPH. As for Citadel's KESP, They have always been a ratings loser in Modesto with their Sports Format. Last time, this station did it big in the ratings was back in the 1990's when they were Adult Standards KBEE.

The Pappas stations are just a write off for their TV Stations most likely. Other stations owners just like to pay extra electric bills to avoid competition from anyone else that might own the stations. Ya think?

I'm betting that KOSO will be the likely candidate for change as La Preciosa Format on KMRQ may not be receiving high ratings but is cheap to run, as with the KESP AM format.

If KMRQ is cheap to run and they don't expect high ratings, why not try a niche format? How about moving CLASSICAL MUSIC from KJSN-102.3 HD2 to 96.7? Or how about OLDIES? Merced's KABX-97.5 is doing great in the Modesto Ratings and Modesto IS AMERICAN GRAFFITI TOWN, Why not have a local Oldies station? I think that if CC doesn't care about the ratings anymore, try something other than Spanish? And while we're at it what about CC's KWSX-1280? Another wasted frequency!
