MONDAY RATINGS PREDICTIONS AND RESULTS

Here's how I see it.

Pretty much a tie between DANCING WITH THE STARS and CBS comedies, with maybe
a slight lead for Dancing.

CBS promoed 2 1/2 MEN to the max........so expect a good number for it.

Maybe easier to predict the losers......FOX & NBC. Which is lower HELL'S KITCHEN
or THE SING-OFF?
Too close to call for me.

10PM HAWAII 5-0 with a slight lead over ABC's CASTLE followed by NBC's THE PLAYBOY CLUB.

F.Y.I. (millions of viewers) 18-49 winner in bold.

8PM
abc DANCING... (18.4)
cbs ....MET YOUR MOTHER (11.7)
fox HELL'S KITCHEN (5.85)
nbc SING-OFF (5.6)

9PM
cbs 2 1/2 MEN (27.8 ) double last years opening
TWO BROKE GIRLS (19.15) time slot is everything
abc DANCING... (18.7)
fox HELL'S KITCHEN (5.9)
nbc SING-OFF (4.7)

10PM
abc CASTLE (13.6)
cbs HAWAII 5-0 (12.0)
nbc PLAYBOY CLUB (5.0)

It figures that Two and a Half Men would get a huge boost in the ratings thanks in large part to the meltdown and firing of Charlie Sheen and the hiring of Ashton Kutcher. Now let's see just how long the audience will stick around.

If I am not mistaken, and please correct me if I am, I read that Kutcher only signed on for one season; so what happens if Ashton decides one year is enough?

Can't answer that one, but would like to point out that DANCING was down a bit from
last year. And Hawaii 5-0 (one of the top new shows of last year) seems to have
fallen some and will probably not make the TOP 25 for the week.

If I had to guess, I'd say this is the last season of Two and a Half Men. When Sheen was fired, Warner Brothers was already committed to a 9th season with CBS and syndication. There was no 10th season ordered at the time of Sheen's firing. Had Warner Brothers not made good to CBS on this season, they would have owed payments to CBS, and the syndicators, as well as having to likely pay for the cast.

Now, if the new Kutcher-backed Two and a Half Men does really REALLY well (based on last night's episode, and reaction to it today by people, this scenario is HIGHLY doubtful, unfortunately) then I think things could obviously change, but who knows?

Like anything, the network will always milk one more season out of a show if at all possible. I wasn't thrilled with Kutcher, but who knows, I'm wrong a lot. I mean look at "Cheers." The best thing that happened to it was when Shelly Long left. It reopened a lot of possibilities and really changed the direction of the show. I don't think it would've lasted as long had Shelly Long stayed on.

I never liked Diane, but I did like some of the guys. Knowing she was gone made me want to watch more. I really liked Rebecca. Later, I discovered I actually could stand Diane and even liked Shelley in her movies. Now as the nasty ex in "Modern Family", that's another matter entirely.
