Money in The Tri-Cities

Radio Rat....You do not know me because I have never seen you in person just heard all about you from people you worked with at HVB! Trust Me.

I know Steve Mann from his days at WQUT and we have very close friends in common....one who was in management at HVB and He told me before he left that Steve was making 62,000 a year plus several extra's! He made three years ago almost 73,000!

If you are not making anywhere near that then you need to go to your GM and demand more! Really.......go to your PD AND GM ask for more money! HVB pays more then BBC and other places here....but YOU STILL NEED TO FIGHT FOR YOURSELF!

Re: Money in The Tri-Cities

Man, say what you want. We are paid well for the easy-ass jobs we have.
I enjoy every minute "on the air". I enjoy spending my honestly earned $1.25 per hour.
You know, Bill Gates once said " THE SMARTEST PEOPLE DON"T DISCUSS PERSONAL FINANCES".

Re: Money in The Tri-Cities

I pulled this off allaccess.com:

Salaries
"10 years ago our morning guy was making $100,000 a plus bonuses

Our afternoon guy was making $60,000

Our Midday person was doing about $30,000

I was a night guy doing about $30,000

Today that morning guy is making about $150,000

The midday person is making $75,000

The afternoon guy is doing $80,000

The night person about $30,000

This a market between 100 and 200.

That is a very successful station. I would work there."

Re: Money in The Tri-Cities

If that is true, that is not the norm in this biz. In Dallas, the station I worked was owned by CBS. The morning was Howard Stern. The station paid $1 million for that show. The afternoon guy was making mid six figures. Middays was about $50 grand and nights was $22 grand. It was a talk station though. That is market #5. That is about average here. Averages around Dallas have dropped off quite a bit over time.

I know BBC is cheap, but nobody on air outside of the Rabbit Station made above $35...unless your name is Jackson Daniels. Plain fact. It was more even between dayparts though.
