Via TomTaylorNow:
mmr-logoNew Boston FM signal proposed at 97.3, as Barry Armstrong files to move a translator in from Saranac Lake, NY to re-broadcast his “Money Matters Radio” WBNW Concord/1120. Seller is Northeast Gospel Broadcasting. This $50,000 sale to Armstrong’s Money Matters Radio Inc. raises Northeast Gospel’s proceeds from selling translators to at least $786,500 this year. The signal is a construction permit in Saranac Lake, near the outer limit of the FCC’s 250-mile translator waiver window. W249CV will relicense to Needham, southwest of Boston, with 40 watts at 97.3. They call the station “Money Matters,” but its lineup includes syndicated talkers Don Imus, Dana Loesch, Glenn Beck, John Batchelor and the overnight Red Eye Radio. Local shows include “Financial Focus with Leo Leydon” and “Stu Taylor on Business.” The competition includes iHeart-owned, Bloomberg-managed 50,000-watt “Bloomberg Radio 1200” WXKS. Broker on the Saranac Lake translator – Brad Murray of JBMedia Consulting.

If that is how Barry invests his own money, I am glad he is not handling any of my investments.

by the time he pays the lawyers, brokers, engineers,Uncle Charlie, and for the equipment you can add another 25K to that amount easily..... plus tower rent, etc etc etc.
how does he see this as any sort of investment with a R.O.I.?

IMUS? are you kidding me? The only place he could get clearance up until now in this market was on 1110 out of Salem NH and on their 102.9 HD2 out of Lawrence.

Competition is Bloomberg 1200? Not that 1200 is winning any contests, but if you are going to assume apples to apples ( and it is not by any stretch of the imagination) 1200 is going to kick butt..... But we are comparing apples to fruitcake, Bloomberg is running real news, not has been talkers and the programming is not a vanity project to push a financial advisor business. Barry Armstrong is Brad Bleidt without the stolen money,

Howie's new tv friendly studio is supposedly not in the Armstrong bldg...Imus keeps threatening to retire but stays on in places like Portland ME.

I agree, This Money Matters Radio is a low rent programming mess. Bloomberg 1200 is far and away superior in every way
