Mongday Morning QBs

Nurse Jeff and I still can't figure out the sports decisions being made by TMISU.

Sunday's Cardinal game WASN'T aired on News 92~Three or Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty, but heard on Sports Siberia 8~sixty. What was on the other stations? Disasterbacks baseball, but of course!

Can anyone splain to us why TMISU couldn't have run the Cards on 92~Three and the Dbacks on 6~twenty? Just 24 hours earlier, ASU was stinkin' it up on both FM & AM with only the Deviltalk show on Sports Siberia 8~sixty.

Maybe The Men In Secret Underwear are having what Denny Green called "..bad ass days.." running 3 1/2 stations and wondering what to do when two teams play at the same time?

Memo to KT'Rs P.D. - now that you're hip 'n happening on FM, lose the audio portion of Meet The Press that's run at noon on Sunday. No need in wasting that big lead-in Voice To America provides!

Sounds to me like the Bonneville Salt Works had three radio stations on the air Sungday that people are talking about on Mongday. KFYI was airing - what was it? Something in mono.

Let's see if that works for the rest of the wink.

To answer your question - and props to you for not asking "What In The Wide World of Sports" again - the KTAR position is to simulcast AM and FM for three months, and not split them, until the all-sports-620 identity campaign is ready.

Right now, they are working on the all-irrelevant-550 campaign.

And besides, if they split KTAR Ayem and Effem it might blow the little minds of all the KFYI water boys.

We'll take Handel On The Law in mono over the Meet The Press soundtrack in FM Stereo any gday ;D Sorry, but the Nurse and I aint buyin' that lame "..wait until 1/01/07" excuse for separating the sports. There was no reason why TMISU had to run the Cards on Sports Siberia 8~sixty on Sungday when the Dorkbats ran on both KT'R FM and Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty. Don't they realize with Big Red, we got a winner in town?!

No reason, except huge contracts that say the DBacks go on KTAR, not KMVP, unless there is a conflict with the Suns, or the team gives permission. Or something to that effect.

I'm told not splitting the stations is something to do with the way arbitron works... could be wrong.

I don't care who you really are... you're still lame.

What part of this aint you gettin? The Disasterbacks could have aired on Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty and the Cards on News (but not now) 92~three. One time deal because there was a conflict between baseball and football. Putting the Cardinals on Sports Siberia 8~sixty was LAME!

.... what part of this argument are you not getting? The AM and FM are a simulcast for now.

Like Bill and Hillary. I-10 and load car rollovers. Nurse Jeff and Matt Groening.

That is the image that The Men In Clean Underpants want to project. The Doctor Akbar School of Audience Confusion might work at One Track 55, where Crummey could fill in on one frequency whenver Rush has to do a remote on the other frequency from Jamaica, where he had to rush down to get his prescriptions filled.

Oh, that's right, Ol' 55 doesn't have the horses for that.

Its KTAR ayem-and-effem for the next 3 "mongths". Period.

We can just hear Janguary 1st now...."Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty with 16 hours of Suns pre-game, followed by the 3 hour game against Sacramento and five hours of Suns Talk after the big game". No Cardinals...their season ended a couple of weeks ago. No Disasterbacks...their season ended three mongths ago. And no ASU Sun Dubyas..they lost a bid to play a bowl game in Spokane. Shazaam! Hmmm...the Nurse are thinkin' that TMISU are savin' Sports Siberia 8~sixty for the Phoenix Mercury and anothger exciting season of Janetball!

After the way the Cardinals played (sic) on Sunday, I'm not sure I'd want them on anything other than Sports Siberia 8~sixty. What compelling reason is there for the Cardinals to be on 92~three or Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty?!?!?!?

Maybe the Cardinals will hire Rick Bloom to do play-by-play and put the games in KFNX. They can call it "The Rick Bloom Play-by-Play Show". He could make up funny jokes about the bad plays and make everyone forget how bad they [the Cardinals] play (sic) footbal.

That's the spirit! I know you will find that fine ESPN programming better than Hangdel on the Law, the stench of which somehow manages to outstink even lawyers in general ... if that can be imagined.

Somehow, I bet there will be a few College Football bowl games on 620 New Years Day. Cheer up, maybe Ol' Mono 55 can tap into the KTLA Rose Parade rerun audio to generate some excitement.

As much as I hate the Cards, I do tend to tune in a bit because I enjoy watching them lose.

But, the guy doing color for them is awful! He sounds like a big dumb jock who got hit in the head too many times. And, I understand being a "homer", but honestly, the team could go on a kiling rampage with Uzi's and he would be complimenting them on their aim.

Yuck.

Go Seahawks.

That's because Ron Wolfley was a big dumb jock (actually, a former Pro Bowl fullback who spent most of his career with the Cards) who got hit in the head too many times. He had several concussions during his career.

Hey, at least he's better than John Mistler ever was.

Go Seahawks.

Who? Go Bears! ;D

Wolfley makes as much sense as Keith DeGreen's financial mis-advise Sungday mornings on KFY~EYE. Fortunately both are on only once a week.

For all the Mongday Morning QB's on the list...who was the four point favorite to win Sungday's game at Cardinal Stadium? Yes indeedy, your BIG RED Losing Machine. So while the Disasterbacks were playing another meanlingless game on News 92~three and Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty, the team with all the buzz was on Sports Siberia 8~sixty. TMISU could have run the Cards on FM and Dbacks on AM.

So if KT'R is truly simulcasting 100% of the time, why did TMISU pull the plug on Devil Talk Saturday afternoon and send it to Sports Siberia 8~60? Guess they felt another syndicated weekend talk show was more compelling than hearing locals (including Congress, Az) call for Dirk Kotter's head!

Yup, the audio portion of Meet The Press runs circles around Handel On The Law on Sungdays. And KSL is at 12~sixty!

I would offer that this is the biggest laugh connected with Akbar and his schtick since two decades ago, when he started talking with his invisible friends.

Speaking of stupid, meaningless errors being exploited by cheap shot artists - is today Tungday?

No...it's Tuesgday! Wassamattawidchu...don't know how to spill?

IN one respect you are correct. Ron Wolfley (the color guy) spent 10 years in the NFL with the Cardinals and Rams......and by his own count had 22 concussions during that time. (#23 came on the streets of downtown tempe, but thats another story)

But...he's not dumb. And he is entertaining......
