Monica Kaufman has a new name...Monica Pearson

In the biggest news about TV news event to occur in Atlanta in a long time, WSB-TV anchor Monica Kaufman is no longer Monica Kaufman, she is now Monica Pearson.

This is not a joke. Kemi Lane is reporting on her blog (verified by Monica's bio at wsbtv.com) that her on-air name is now Monica Pearson. Monica married John E. Pearson Sr. a couple of weeks ago.

Congratulations to Monica. After 30 years in Atlanta, people are going to have a hard time realizing this change.

An update...Monica Kaufman is still Monica Kaufman for now. Apparently, the name change is still being considered.

It confuses me as to why they would change her bio on the station's website, but not her on-air name. I guess it is just one of htose things.

Kaufman has turned into a brand for WSB. I sure hope she continues that on-air name.<P ID="signature">______________
