Monica Pearson - 35 Years at WSB-TV

Back in the late '70s Dick Mallary, who was sort of a news
consultant for the Cox stations, told me the story of how
Monica ended up in Atlanta. She had been at WHAS/11
Louisville and was such a boost to their ratings that an
executive at WAVE/3 sent a tape of her to Channel 2 (both
WAVE and WSB were NBC affiliates at the time; WAVE still is),
just to get her out of Louisville. Well, the rest, as they say,
is history.

Another Louisville personality turned down a chance to come
to Atlanta the next year. When Jeff Davidson became g.m.
at 11 Alive he wanted to bring along his weathergirl from WLKY,
Ange Humphrey (yeah, sort of a '70s Dagmar). She was married
and moonlighting as a country singer around Kentucky and Indiana,
so Gail Janus (another Dagmar wannabe) got the job, but Jeff eventually
got the girl--he and Ange married some years later and were married at
the time of his death in 2004; they were living in Bardstown, KY.

I had to throw that in, but I, too, say "happy 35th year at Channel 2
Action News" to Monica.

35 years..Boy that's a lot of over wrought hand wringing introductions to daily apartment fires and breaking news 2 car fender benders on the interstate.

35 YEARS and a 100 lbs. later.

"lover" I tried to respond to your post to Monica's 35 years, but the admin kicked it out and told me not to express those feelings again because you are 'special'... I am not a Monica fan, but i am getting old and fat, and if you live long enough, you will also suffer from that condition and I know some dim wit will say the same thing about you, if anyone even knows you are alive, or were even here.
