Monkees' Davy Jones Dies at 66

This is sad news indeed he was a wonderful person! RIP Davey. Everyday is a gift, use them well!
Mark Evanier just encountered Jones less than 3 weeks ago, and his account of that meeting exemplify what a nice guy he was.

All of the memorials on my local radio stations would be quite touching

Saw Dolenz on GMA this morn -- he spoke very lovingly of his bandmate and good friend. Seems to me like he and Jones really hit it off and stuck together through the years, maintaining a close relationship and working on projects together, while Tork and Nesmith were often more standoffish and desirous of maintaining more distance from their Monkees legacy. (Although both participated in some reunions and projects, both jointly and separately.)
I was amused that age has hardly altered Mickey's voice -- he still sounds like he hasn't gone through puberty yet!
