Sexy show-jumping
Sexy Savannah, who has been a staple on 104.1 FM (WTKS) for nearly a decade, is making a jump to another show on the same station -- and not everyone involved is happy about it.
After years with Russ Rollins and the Monsters (now in the morning), Savannah is set to debut today on Shannon Burke's midday show.
Savannah, a former lance corporal with the Marine Corps whose real name is Heather Boan, described the move as a "mutual decision," saying she was simply ready for a change. Rollins, however, said there was nothing simple about it, saying she surprised him last week with news of her departure, and he was hurt both personally and professionally by the decision.
"I'm not happy about this at all," Rollins said Monday. "We've always thought of this show as a team."
While conceding that a former romance between the two complicated things, Rollins started with the I-plucked-her-out-of-obscurity-and-helped-make-her-who-she-is-today spiel before stopping himself.
"When your heart's involved, things are always more complicated," he said. "It's not like I wish her ill will. It's just that I miss her and I'm hurt."
For his part, Burke said he's glad to have Savannah on board, saying that considering her popularity: "Anybody'd be an idiot not to take her."
