Monsters

I only caught the last part of their on air discussion. Where did Savannah move to? All I heard was that she left the show.

Heard Russ talking about it this morning, but he didn't mention any specific reason why...anyone know???

there's the scott maxwell story in the sentinel... but the real reason will doubtfully ever be known. when it comes to getting the real story out of Russ Rollins, it ain't gonna happen. i suspect that both shows will get lots of mileage out of savannah's departure... lots of back and forth, calling this out, calling that out, he said/she said... the kind of schtick that captivates the chronics into tuning into shannon's show to hear what savannah will say about what the monsters said about her this morning... no one listens to shannon burke now, and those who need their "savannah fix" now have a reason to listen to something other than the monsters.

if you can't tell, i think its a calculated decision, of which Russ Rollins was very much a part. They have the rest of the summer to tune up the change... in time for the fall book.

Sexy show-jumping

Sexy Savannah, who has been a staple on 104.1 FM (WTKS) for nearly a decade, is making a jump to another show on the same station -- and not everyone involved is happy about it.

After years with Russ Rollins and the Monsters (now in the morning), Savannah is set to debut today on Shannon Burke's midday show.

Savannah, a former lance corporal with the Marine Corps whose real name is Heather Boan, described the move as a "mutual decision," saying she was simply ready for a change. Rollins, however, said there was nothing simple about it, saying she surprised him last week with news of her departure, and he was hurt both personally and professionally by the decision.

"I'm not happy about this at all," Rollins said Monday. "We've always thought of this show as a team."

While conceding that a former romance between the two complicated things, Rollins started with the I-plucked-her-out-of-obscurity-and-helped-make-her-who-she-is-today spiel before stopping himself.

"When your heart's involved, things are always more complicated," he said. "It's not like I wish her ill will. It's just that I miss her and I'm hurt."

For his part, Burke said he's glad to have Savannah on board, saying that considering her popularity: "Anybody'd be an idiot not to take her."

Scott Maxwell, who suggests Jim Davis ask the Palm Beach Kennel Club for a check, seeing as how he's the only one of these five who didn't get one, can be reached at [email protected] or 407-420-6141.

My God, how many people are gonna be on the Shannon Burke show? BTW, that show, as well as the rest of Real Radio, needs a new producer ASAP. Preferably, someone who can keep levels steady so that I can hear both the host AND the caller. It's a bold concept, but I think it may catch on.

Savannah's voice makes my hair hurt. I'm moving out of Florida next week though, so I guess I won't be here for the drama.

Maybe she was disgusted by the Monsters pulling their "we invented this assault on the media" thing they are promoting and bolted. O&A played their bit today and they were disgusted by the DJs claiming they have to clear this with management so no one steals this. Wha Wha Wha?? Granted most of radio is rehashed crap, no one will deny this.

O&A played it this morning and have ordered the "Army" to get on their case. Shannon Burke should let the Monsters know what happened to him.
