Monte del Estado & WORA 760 photos

I took these pictures back in December 2009 when I was visiting relatives for the Holidays.

The leftmost tower with the "top hat" is a telephone relay tower. TV and radio stations broadcasting from this mountain:
WORA-TV (ch 5/DT 29); WNJX-TV (22/DT 23); WOLE-DT (12); WEGM-FM (95.1); WAEL-FM (96.1); WUKQ-FM (99.1); WIVA-FM (100.3) and WRRH-FM (106.1).
I think WIPM-TV (3/DT 35) in in there as well. This is subject to confirmation or correction from the appropriate authorities. (Señor Gleason? Señor Gleason!)

I didn't have time to drive up the mountain to take closer photos. Maybe on my next visit.

WORA 760 Mayagüez - taken at the Guanajibo road (PR-102).

If I'm not mistaken it was the Salsa 63 network, named after WQBS 630 in San Juan (now on 870). It also included WPRP 910 in Ponce.
They continued on after the station re-branded as Cadena QBS.

Wasn't Luis Antonio Cosme part of the cast as well?

Since I was a kid in Ponce I've always heard 910 as a network together with 630 and 760. First as La Gran Cadena ("Buena Músicaaaaaa"), then as Salsa 63, Cadena QBS, Super Kadena Noticiosa, and now, Notiuno.

Their first gig was at a station called "Radio Centro". I should know, my dad heard them when he studied in Mayagüez.

We'll have to wait on David Eduardo to come and illuminate us then.

I thought they began on Cosmos with Felito and Bonet Vélez, padre.

I think I remember now: Radio Centro was the name of the Building where the original WOYE-FM Cosmos 94 was located.
Speaking of which : I failed to mention that 94.1 (currently WNOD) also has its transmitter atop Monte del Estado.

Was that the WOYE building, or the one where WTIL-1300 was located. Gilbert Mamery, if I recall, owned a lot where some builders (Metropolitan Builders, if I recall) wanted to do a condo. He got money plus one of the penthouses for the station and the building was named Condominio Radio Centro.

That's must be it! The one 2 or 3 blocks from El Colegio aka UPR-Mayagüez Campus. Although I grew up in Ponce I'm familiar with Mayagüez because my extended family is from there.

So, David, can you tell us which towers are what on the Monte del Estado photos above? ;D
