My wife's car cost more than that.

Wow. Between closing costs, attorney's fees*, Due Diligence, etc., that's going to be at least 10% of the sale cost.

DE

*Not that I mind attorneys make a nice living, or anything.

Well, there goes another memory of mine shot to hell !!! I remember in 1978 I was working for 1510 WKPO Prentiss and my good friend Stan Smith was working for 1270 WMLC Monticello . We would compare notes as to what each other was playing .....those were some great old days . Goodbye WMLC !! We'll miss the way things used to be !

Interesting. That station had been off the air for several years and was taken off of the FCC website. It hasn't been back on the air that long. First with sports and later with southern gospel. WKPO, wow I remember picking that up when I was a kid. How long has that station been gone?

WKPO went silent in 1984 when WKPO-AM and WJDR-FM was sold to John A. Polk of Polk Meats . John is an old radio guy also , having worked at WHSY (the old Y-104 in Hattiesburg.) As is the case so many times , they were only interested in the FM station . So WKPO went dark ! WJDR was later sold to Tommy McDaniel ,who is the current owner .

Tommy McDaniel....god you guys are bringing back some ole times..I worked for Tommy in Columbia at WCJU in the 70's. I also worked for WMLC in the mid 70's, thought about buying it but just didn't think the city could support it!!
