Montgomery Translators

Are both of Killer Diller's translators shut off now? I know one definately is, but the other one might not be. What's he going to do when they're both off? Is there another translator available for him to lease?? Or might he file for one in the next window? The Haiglers own 104.9 and had filed for 101.5 in the past)

I also notice the WAY-FM translator on 91.5 in "Snowdoun" has a CP to move and change channels to 91.9 which is also the same frequnecy of their Montgomery translator. According to the R-L maps, theres ALOT of overlap. How do they plan on keeping any problems from occuring.. say from audio getting from the satelittes to one translator quicker then the other and causing an echo??

Far as I know, 93.9 is off. 107.9 FM is still on, until WJAM makes their move to Montgomery. Roscoe can also be heard at 107.1, in Montgomery.

I'll be in the gump, this Thursday. Yes I'll check things out to be sure that I'm right on my info.

P.S. From what I was reading, on Radio-Locator, the two WAY stations are getting a slight power increase. Wish WAY would relocate to one frequency and get a major power increase. That would serve them better, than having two small translators, that only cover parts of the city.

Re: Montgomery Translators (An Update)

91.5 & 91.9 is still WAY FM
104.9 is still Tiger Rock
107.1 & 107.9 is still WKXN

I checked it out, while I was behind the Baptist Hospital, earlier today. (West side of the City)

W300AN, 107.9 FM has a CP to go from 55W/174ft in the NE corner of the city to 38W/200ft in the SE corner of the city. I wonder what the point of moving it is, when it will eventually have to sign off the air due to WJAM 107.9!

I wonder how 107.1 is even still on the air! According to fccinfo.com and the FCC"s own CDBS Database, 107.1 doesnt exsist with a license. Usually if a license has been deleted, it remains in the database for awhile. Well, this translator doesn't even show up at all.

Maybe Roscoe should talk to the folks at WAY-FM. They have the CP for W248AY-98.5fm which is licensed for 10W/775ft from a tower in the center of the city, a very populated area (98.5fm coverage map: http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FX682534.html) I'm sure WAY-FM would sell it if offered enough money....,

WKXN's website hasn't been updated in 2 or 3 years... when I lived in Montgomery back in Summer & Fall of 2004, www.wkxn.com looked exactly the same as it does now.
