WMBI 90.1 CHICAGO prepares to make history Tomorrow(Friday, August 25th) when the station broadcasts live from the maximum-security LOUISIANA STATE PENITENTIARY (LSP) in ANGOLA, LA, from 5-9a (CT).
ANGOLA is home to the nation’s first and only licensed prison radio station KLSP, which became an official affiliate of the MOODY BROADCASTING NETWORK (MBN) in 2003. Once known as “America’s bloodiest prison,” ANGOLA is now operating as its own community, providing rehabilitation programs as varied as a drama club, wood shop and Bible college programs.
The morning broadcast will follow the typical daily format for WMBI, consisting of news, sports, traffic and weather, but will feature stories from the team’s tour through the prison the previous day and various live interviews including an interview with WARDEN BURL CAIN.
