Moore no more?

Steve Moore was missing from evenings on KFRC Friday as they kicked-off 60's weekend. No talent filled in.

Anybody know anything?

I don't know if this is related, but I was listening in my car for about 10 minutes during Coffey's show. KFRC was raising money for the boy who was shot in Oakland, so they were seriously breaking regular format - Jay was talking live without interruption for minutes at a time, taking phone calls (song requests for $ donations), and talking with Dave Sholin who was also in studio.

Just speculating, but I think Moore's show is normally voice-tracked, so perhaps there was no time to put together a VTed out-of-format show. Maybe he's down with a cold.

Was there another announcer in the evening, or did they just run jock-less?

Did you ever consider that he may have gotten sick? That does happen from time to time in life and with an event like the KFRC Pay For Play maybe there wasn't time to get someone else to come in? Just a thought!

I think Steve's show, which is tracked, was just not done due to the special Pay for Play request thing they were doing for the young boy from Oakland that was shot. Since Steve's Real Job is as the Production Director I'm thinking asking him to do a full day of production, then staying on to be on Live till midnight may have been a bit much...even for CBS. ;)

BTW, I hope the folks who run KFRC listened to what was requested by their core listeners...It is the most interesting the station has sounded musically since they signed on. I could do without the Dance Beat Beatles
Remix, but the rest sounded like it belonged there...Perhaps that IS what the audience would like to hear on the Classic Hits station. ::)
