MORE 101.1FM

Where do we see them? I like every other song on this station. They play good song followed by some B side track I have never heard before, is it planned that way?

Yes. Please keep in mind that even though Buddy has a sales agreement with the station, they have to adhere to Canadian broadcast standards and devote a certain percentage of their playlist to Canadian artists.

I've had 101.1 More FM as one of my car pre-sets for a while(and also have the app on my phone). More FM is good, but trust me when I say this: Boom 97.3 in Toronto does it a LOT better. More has had a lot of on-air staff turnover in its 2 plus years, Boom has not. And they play generally the same artists.

I haven't seen the ads as yet, myself.

With my involvement this is changing.

I don't understand. Are you saying CRTC is waiving Canadian content rules? Highly unlikely.

ive never run across someone who seems to need approval from other radio people like Buddy.. hes somewhat regularly promoting and or replying to threads on here about his station...

I identify with him much of the time. I think he is proud of what he has done, both in his sales career in the past and now with his stations. There is a bit of a Horatio Alger story there; "Local Boy Makes Good".

The fact is that Buddy took a station that was a disaster and made it viable while serving an audience group that everyone else ignored. I give him four and a half stars for that.

If I'd had access to social media when I built my first station, I'd have done the same thing... or more (worse?).

More 101.1 changed back to B101.1 last year, in case anybody on the Buffalo boards cares.

It was a Philly powerhouse for years as B-101, and when they flipped to More 101.1, ratings fell - even though the music was very similar. Folks still called it B-101, so why fight it?? They listened to the public and changed back to B-101.1

Branding is everything. I still know people who refer to 104.1 as "Oldies 104".
