Ok, so as a San Antonio resident I listen to both, all of the S.A. hip hop community does admit it!
Now do they both play out the same songs and drill them into our heads until we are sick of them?
Most of the time! In all honesty though kudos to Power.
They have came a very long way from the "hip hop flanker" to a real player in this game.
I give credit where it is due.

Lets start with The Beat.

- Very local (morning show, promos, etc)
- Heritage
- Phrase that pays. (even though I've seen posts that claim it to be played out, it works)

Now Power:

- Energy is great!
- Imaging. (I have always been a fan of Eric Edwards and Angie Mar adds spice. Not to mention
the listeners incorporated.)
- Younger Staff (lets face it, I love hip hop but I'm in my late 30's. No one wants to see me
in the clubs acting like I still enjoy it.)
- IN THE STREETS!

In short, both stations are great for the city. Whether you admit it to yourself or not this city is big enough
for two Hip-Hop stations. ONLY ADVICE I HAVE IS............98-5 stick to your guns and continune to do what you have done if you want to stay number one. Lately you sound like a 106-7 imitation. I am not picking sides, just speaking honesty. Pointing out the energy again, Power has always used sirens/air raids and other efx in their shows. I have recently heard the afternoon show imitating that! Please, just stick to the 98-5 we all know and DO WHAT YOU DO. If you sound like Power, why will listeners tune into you when they could listen to them?

I'm so glad our hip hop scene is picking up steam!
Now if both stations could put their ego's aside
and learn to respect one another then it would be the
start to a great movement 8)
