More Bradley Jay On WBZ-1030??

Call it a hunch, but I'm beginning to think that WBZ-1030's search for a permanent weeknight all-night host to replace the canned Jen Brien may be all but over.

This past week (and I believe all of the previous week as well), Bradley Jay was doing the all-night show every weeknight. Todd Feinberg filled-in Jay's Sunday-night slot the past two Sundays (October 20th and 27th).

I wonder if 'BZ may decide to put Bradley Jay into the weeknight all-night slot and either have Feinberg replace Jay on Sunday nights or (more likely) extend the Sunday-night infomercial block to 12 Midnight.

Yeah, I'm getting that same feeling too. I don't care much for Feinburg at all, way too political, but I'd rather he have the show than another 2 hours of snake oil "Purity" Products. That 9-10pm block is one of only two remaining PP blocks, the other being 335-435am Sunday mornings after Jordan Rich. Personally I would like if Bradley Jay kept Jay Talking and did 4 nights a week, and Morgan White Jr. did one morning a week on the Sunday-Monday shift (or as he would say, WBZ overnights 1).

Last night (October 27th), Todd Feinberg again did the 10 P.M.-12 Midnight shift Bradley Jay normally does, while Bradley was on the overnight shift.

Given that this is the third straight week that's happened, I'm more convinced than ever that Bradley Jay will soon be officially named WBZ-1030's weeknight overnight host.

But as noted above, I doubt Todd Feinberg (or anyone else) will inherit Jay's old Sunday-night slot. That probably will be converted to more paid programming.

I'm fine with Bradley Jay taking the show. He doesn't do nightly ho-hum trivia games for the usual group of participants (most who seem to possess the intelligence of beetle larvae), doesn't interview boring authors and poets and such, and most importantly he doesn't end every statement with "mmm hmmm" or have his mum call in every week, talk about pee and poo and drugs, doesn't hold an endless wake for someone or ask his audience to find him an apartment....and Joe Mathieu genuinely seems to like him.

Bradley is a small step up from Brien, no doubt...but I get tired of his style of "baiting" callers, trying to pick fights with them. It must be a carryover from his personal life, as he is constantly talking about getting in fights on the train, subway, etc. Anger issues, no?

Aside from that, he is bigoted against a certain group of people, shall we say. I rem. once when he filled in for Steve a few years ago, he had a woman caller from Illinois in tears with his bigoted comments. She used to be a semi-regular caller to Steve's show. I never heard her again after that last call with Bradley J.

And his attitude is still apparent these days. Listen close and for long enough & you will pick up on it.

No matter, as for me I've already moved my presets from 1030 AM. I'll tune in once nightly to see if Morgan/other is on - if not, I'm on to Hendrie or something else.

I unexpectedly tuned in briefly and caught Bradley trying to talk to "Jo-ann" --Ms Prolific-- and it wasn't going well. He wouldn't allow her to insist that Obama had shut Gov' down... not Congress. This woman has had her way for years and she wasn't used to a minor correction. But you couldn't tell her that.

I haven't heard her in years --avoid job-- and she is slipping. Or maybe she's upset you-know-who has left the building?

Know nothing about any prejudices yet? He's had two huge topics between the RS and maybe the most senseless murder ever. Awful.

As for an announcement I would doubt it. They are still smarting from the last one. My guess would be the schedule will change and that's it. It looks like they will try and pretend the previous few months never happened.

Bradley Jay is another example of why the once great WBZ Radio is becoming nothing more than a timid imitation of the rightwing nut station WRKO but it is too afraid to go whole hog. Say goodnight Gracey.

What has happened to WBZ? I know time has passed but you would think that someone would love to work graveyard at WBZ. I know that person wouldn't be me but there has to be someone out there that could make that work.

Oh what a relief it is. Morgan White Jr. was on overnight last night!

He is no Bradley Jay....and that is GOOD !

Dan Rea mentioned on his show Monday night (October 28th) and in taped promos that ran yesterday (October 29th) that he would not be on last night because he was speaking at some function. He said that Todd Feinberg would fill-in.

But it turned out that Bradley Jay filled-in for Rea, and Morgan White, Jr. did the overnight show.

About 12:15 A.M. this morning (October 30th), White mentioned "(A)t this time of the night, you expect to be hearing Bradley Jay....", which has led me to believe that although no public announcement has been made, that Bradley Jay may have gotten the weeknight overnight slot.

If that's the case, who would inherit Jay's old slot on Sunday nights?? Or, as I have speculated in this thread, could the slot may be converted to paid programing??

Listening to Bradley on BZ and BCN, I've always felt that he thinks of himself as the most interesting and intellectual person at the party. Considering the other candidates though, Bradley is a good fit for overnights.

WBZ has lost their edge

Between "burnt toast" and the "lounge lizard" they have lost me week nights. I heard someone on Jordan's show last night refer to "Morgan's wonderful interviews like Ernest B" and I thought I'd choke wasn't he like 90 years old when he died. Old senile guests are generally his special. I don't think Ernest was when I last heard him interviewed some where, but most of Morgan's interviews are just that.

Bradley Jay doing the overnight again tonight, Dean Johnson was filling in for Jay Talking, it was nice to hear him again.
