More Brand Insanity? New Myspace Logo Similar To My Network TV's

Re: My Network TV Might Need To Sue Myspace...

Um, you do know that Fox owns both My Network TV and Myspace, right?

Re: My Network TV Might Need To Sue Myspace...

Which makes their decision to even go with this new logo even more baffling. MSNBC.com is already trying to distance themselves from MSNBC, the cable network, as the news website mostly has nothing to do with the cable news network's content. I doubt that Myspace is going to turn into a promotional clearinghouse for "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" reruns overnight.

I hope this just ends up a failed test case of a logo that won't go out after the feedback comes out. When you have a good amount of stations running far away from that cursed blue 'screen' branding and putting your reruns on after midnight, you're a failure as a network.

Why Fox Interactive would even test this out is baffling. Then again this is from someone who hasn't visited their MySpace in at least a year and a half (and not really regretting it).

Myspace sucks now anyway. I deleted my account there about a month ago. Facebook changed, I like it and it's now it's only one of two social sites I go to.

In related news, the numbers 5, 9, 27, and 96 in ESPN's football graphics package looks strikingly similar to several local TV logos--not to mention digits found on random boxes of macaroni, telephone directories for Silsbee, TX, and the Easter Day program flyer at Hosanna Baptist Church.

Seriously, WTH does this have to do with TV?

It's a thick Franklin Gothic or similar. ESPN has been in love with Klavika especially though as a typeface since last year.

Tom or Fox (or whoever is running that stupid site these days) just needs to shut that site down already.
