More Cable Channels going HD soon

Gee, I'm waiting for CMT to go HD. Nothing like seeing Vicki Lawrence's wrinkles in high-def.

The article mentions there was no comment from Fox regarding FX, but I'd expect them to launch an HD simulcast soon since all of their original programming has been shot in HD for several years now (dating to 2002, I believe), even though it hasn't been broadcast that way.

At least (most of) the networks mentioned are worthy of HD signals. Now if it was G4, Court TV and other networks with a small viewer base....yawn.

Would all of the programming on these channels be in HD? I ask because of "WWE Raw" on USA. Except for an experimental TV taping at a Smackdown! brand house show (not taped for CW) at Mohegan Sun Casino (Connecticut) a while back, WWE hasn't produced anything in HD yet.

Good news for satellite subscribers. I am suprised though. The bandwidth issues have got to be a problem for cable, right? I can see these guys going EDTV (480p), but HDTV? I assume we are talking 720p not 1080i. Still, cartoon network and scifi in HD- oh boy what a waste of cable bandwidth.

Some USA Shows are also run on UHD but well after the fact.
Monk is filmed in wide-screen.
USA is starting a new season of Monk next week.
Their co-owned UHD channel is running Monk from four years ago.

By the end of the year? That's almost a year away. Sounds pretty slow to me.
