MORE changes at ABC....

Yea, I'd agree B95 would sound good as a Hot AC, are they going to tweak after Christmas? Albany doesn't have a true Hot AC, at least IMO (WRVE is more like a Classic Hits/Gold Hot AC) :)

However, you still have the issue of overlap with WFLY (it's really bad in Detroit with Clear Channel owning WNIC, WKQI and WDTW-FM, and in NYC with WKTU and WHTZ :))

I think they will be split or gone along with other changes in the building, they are part of the old managment and these guys are putting in their own people one by one.

No more Cat Country perhaps? I'd like a nice Urban AC, or some Spanish format on 104.9 (I've dubbed this frequency a "Wheel of Formats", similar to the old WPIX 101.9 in NYC due to its frequent format changes) :)

I still think Cat Country will never beat WGNA, sorry... what we need is to support our underserved minorities...

Cat Country is designed to undermine WGNA not to "beat" them. I've observed that my teenaged daughter, whose primary stations used to be FLY, KISS & JAMZ, now prefers FLY, KISS, Cat Country & GNA.

Regarding a Spanish format, Hispanics account for only 2.9% of the 6 county metro's population. A station programming to that audience receives no weighting benefit in Arbitron so it's doubtful in these tough economic times that PAMAL, CC, or TSM would commit a viable broadcast signal to a format specifically targeting that audience. It wouldn't be surprising down the road to see an app
developed for that purpose, however.

I don't know, I think I disagree...that morning show on Crush sounds like it might have potential! Some times these things take time... I say give it a chance, now...as for the station imaging...blah!

Mark, with all due respect and no offense, your show is not topical. It's rather boring. As far as on-air presence, you're fine, you're upbeat, you sound good.

Talk more about what you guys did over the weekend, touch on something that happened and then take calls...Talk about your personal lives.

I hear the music, you and Meredith talk about really nothing...It seems like you two are killing time. No topics...Not entertaining. And Get rid of the "say-what" crap...Argh.

I did morning radio for 6 years, I kinda know what I'm writing about.

And since you are posting on the ABC thread, Listen to Brian and Chrissy. They are #1 in the 18-35 demo. There's a reason for this. They are entertaining! They are topical.

Your station needs to promote you guys more to stay competitive in this market. Get out in the public more, together!

My 2 cents.

I agree with reporter there mark you need more topics that can relate to the listeners after all your talking to mostly a female adult audience 25-40. more research needed. Crush has potential I agree takes time , it needs to become more upbeat as a station even if you change formats.

you also should add more funny commentary like the fly morning rush does when i listen to fly 92 it gets my attention of some of the stuff brian and chrissy say it draws me in that's what you need on crush is to draw the listeners to you.

More public appearances/Promotions , more remotes are needed thats a must

sean caldwell does good imaging but it needs to be more upbeat and get rid of the all new , crush fm has been on the air more then a year and they need to come up with newer ideas for better imaging.

I think part of the problem is no one takes the time to go over air checks anymore. With the work load on the few full time PD's, voice tracking and consultants basically tell you what you want to hear so they keep getting paid there is not time spent on grooming shows any more, also there are no farm teams for shows to cut their teeth and learn due to voice tracking, syndication and money of course. There use to be a real insentive to start out at a small market and work you way up to the big leagues.

Some interesting updates from the land of ABC...

ABC sports and fitness is no longer...or soon will no longer be 24 hours...

Morrell has sold sign pro...

On top of that words of offers to buy the stations coming to the man in charge daily...

Radiochick1221, good job on filling us in and thank you! My comment is about Sign Pro. My company did quite a bit of business with them years ago. Then their manager, whom was with them for eons, quit. The new guy came in and well let's see...I took my business elsewhere. Didn't Sign Pro relocate to Rt. 9? Mmmmm....The only comment I can write about Sports and Fitness is they have or...had alot clients. What happened?

I personally have met Mr. Morrell on numerous occasions. I even DJ'ed a wedding at his mansion last winter. He treated me well. I have a ton of respect of him. His wife, not so much (It's all about how you treat others) and she likes her drinks. I kept to myself and did my job.

I never had personal issues with the family but professionally....well...I won't get into that..

I know sign pro is the go to place for all of his stations...and from first had experience over the past few years the quality of the work has gone down quite a bit.

As far as Sports and Fitness...I used to have a membership there..and there was never hot water in the shower...the bathrooms weren't cleaned...I'm sure the same lockers have the same "don't use, broken" signs on them and the facility as a whole is pretty degraded.

And it's seems that they are getting anyone they can to fill in on the weekend air shifts across all stations...

I get the feeling that there's lots of head-less chickens running around that building right now
