Asian TV moves from the analog tier to digital 108, TV-One is on both, it was added to 21 also on 173, so certain minorities can have either package and watch it, not bad, they made it nice and easy. BFC, Black Family Channel starts on 262, now there is TV-ONE, BET, BET-Jazz, Oh and BFC for Blacks and 5 or more for Hispanics. Instead of GSN, American Life or Fuse, Comcast has to constantly cater to certain peeps.

I noticed on the Comcast digital line up I have that All the West feeds for the Encore channnels, Sundance and Flix are gone......this is like 5-6 channels suddenly gone. Where is the announcement/message on this happening? But I did get the announcement/message about the new/replacement Spanish Channel the other week!?! Comcast really needs to inform us of these changes........And I hate thier new channel line up....very difficult finding anything and getting use to where things are now. And why put all those local 'junk' channels on the good lower numbers? Put Ch 48 back on 48, CH51 back on 51, Ch 61 back on 61.....etc where they belong...and why CSPAN on CH4 ? And CH5 blanked out? and the purpose of swapping Ch29 and Ch57 between Ch9 & 13 ??? Total confusion.

This is for the most basic cable subscription, called "limited basic cable" Its about $13 a month, and is mainly cable for people who really only want locals clear. However, what it also includes is ussally 1 c-span, local access/government access, 1 or 2 cable networks (TBS/weather channel where I live). The channel lineup is ch2 thru 23 (plus the shoping networks). Because the package is ch 2 thru 23, they always put the local channels within that range (wfmz being the exception), instead of its real station number. This is the case thruout the country.

Changes at Comcast NW/Ne Philadelphia

Here in NW/NE Philadelphia, 3 analog channels are gone, ESPN Classic, HBO 2 and CMT, those channels have moved to digital cable. Does anyone know if Any other channels has been moved to digital or even removed from the cable lineup in this area and did Comcast add new channels for my area and why are they doing this?

In Bensalem. HBO,Starz, Cinemax, and Showtime are now only available on Digital. They also moved TV Guide Channel, CMT, C-SPAN2, and EWTN to Digital only status.

The Travel Channel has been added to Digital, and Channel 39 PBS, has been added to basic. I guess they want more customers to subscribe to their Digital service, which I have already so I can get HD channels.

Julius: are you in Northwest Philadelphia or Northeast Philadelphia? You mention two different sections of the City. Which one are you in?

My opinion is Crapcast constantly moves the channels around, without notice, just to piss people off. On top of that, they jack up the rates every month...which pisses off customers even further. We have Crapcast where I live (they took over AT&T Cable up here a couple of years back), and I refuse to pay a dime for their services. I used to work for Crapcast (at CN8) and they treated me like dogsh*t. Why should I get cable through them? I can't wait till Verizon offers cable or satellite TV up my way.

I'm in the Nicetown section.

oh julius write to comcast and tell them your not happy :D
I have e-mailed to Comcast a lot about a lot of tech problems with the video, volume, stereo audio on the analog, etc.

I did notice Crapcast took off all the West digital movie/variety channels (10 in all). Now all thats left is East, I enjoyed the variety of East and West, they never mentioned anything about it. This sucks big time. BTW what is the email address for Crapcast. One more question, driving on 95 today I noticed a building with the Spanish Channel 62 on Delaware Ave above Vine Street. I thought they were a Jersey station with transmitter down by the shore??? I don't have interest in the station, so I don't know why their studios/offices are in Philly.

if your not happy with comcast go buy directv or dish network

Your response is just about the same response we have given him over the past several months. Your response is falling on deaf ears, so to speak. The contributor in question is never happy unless he's on here complaining about something that nobody else cares about.

Comcast has to be about the worst cable company I have dealt with.
Their major selling point for the service is they have local sports, something I could care less about, but a lot of people do.
Let me just say I am not making financial contributions to Comcast Sports Net anymore.

You should be getting a notice if you have it already via the mail about the channel line up changes. My Mom got one not too long ago. Look at the bottom of the envelope where it should say important channel changes or something like that

So true, people like Classic, RockIntern and Scissors were ridiculed for making true statements and are now gone, and this guy posts whatever he so desires with no backlash. We all know the statements they made did not sit right with the liberal, politically correct, not on my block, urban fools, that pollute this board. Wait when JJZ goes Rhythmic and the Beat is Jazz, they were be creaming in their jeans posting all over the place. Just check out the other board, its the same 106.1 crap over and over with Venta as the catalyst, fueling it and Eagle who never has anything important to say, commenting on every word.

I did get the channel line up changes notice in the mail on Saturday explaining why the West Coast feeds of Encore/Flix/Sundance were dropped. All the shows/movies on the mentioned channels are avaialble on 'On Demand' and the deletion of the channels will make room for other stuff. Also In the notice were the new channels which were added. One would think that this notice should of went out prior to the changes or they should have sent a message over the digit box of these changes on the date of the change, like they do when new/changes are done w/the Spanish channels. Maybe something held up the mail notice because it stated starting August 1st...............

Comcast did these changes earlier in the year, in parts of NJ. This one person didn't like it too much, and even debunked (or atleast claims to have) the ondemand excuse.

Ofcoarse this change also effected the west coast feed of HBO, Cinemax, showtime, and starz. Right now we only have the west coast feed of the main HBO, and the main cinemax.
