Heard from a very reliable source that the new GM at Cumulus has already resigned. That's the third GM in the last 3 or 4 months. Next and Qantum seemed to have had the same market manager for at least 5 years. Any reason why Cumulus can't hold one?
Cumulus just needs to combine Wilmington and Myrtle Beach together somewhat. For one the Wilmington Cumulus stations sound way better take a look at Coast and WGNI plus you can hear those two stations well around the Myrtle Beach area. I always thought Cumulus should just broadcast one or two of their Wilmington stations by putting it on one of their stations in Myrtle Beach. Just play different commericals on the two and different weather and traffic reports.
Interesting considering COAST 97.3 has been booming into the Grand Strand for the longest. They even show up in MB's ratings assuming they are pulling listeners from there own sister stations, POWER 100.3 and 98.5 KISS FM. Its sounds like a good idea but with both cities having large populations and being 75 miles a part I don't think it would work in the long run. I stll don't understand how Myrtle Beach and Florence have the same local news stations.
