Steve Dennis got passed over for an anchor position AGAIN. I wonder how much longer WFAA (ABC) will stand for it's people jumping ship over to CBS 11. This time it is Gina Miller of the Sports Department.

As Gordon Keith of KTCK 1310-AM The Ticket said this morning, "Steve Dennis has seen more "passovers" than an 90 year old Jew."

Gina Miller isnt all that, IMHO. I think Steve needs to look elsewhere, as KTVT appears to be playing "the cards", when it comes to their new staff.

On another note, gordo has no room to talk. he got bumped off of KTVT for his shenanagins during the days of "Postively Texas".

LOL while that maybe true, The Station Cancer, The Student of Eros, The Devil's Own, Gordon Keith is what keeps the Ticket funny. After all Corby Davidson is just a bad version of Gordo. Also once Gordo left, didn't Positively Texas get "bumped" to weekends like @ 1am or something similar? For all I know, it got cancelled.

They got bumped around like 6-7 times, thats a question for Jody Dean....:)

Gordo is such a unique talent that most folks don't know how to use him, let alone most folks in TV. It was nothing he did. It was simply that the show never had any idea of what it wanted to be, and was wrongheaded, misnamed, and miscast from the start. Begin with casting two anchors seperated by two feet in height and five miles in philosophy. Continue by trying to get a live audience at 3 in the afternoon. After we started hauling in folks from retirement homes to fill the bleachers, one guest nearly passed on during the show - and was caught on camera drooling. The live audience then went away. The few viewers soon followed, as did station support. It then became a weekend means to satisfy the public folder. Coulda been very good, and it was better with Gordo than without him.

Im not saying gordo lacks talent...the guy makes me laugh, he just needs a decent outlet to exhibit his skills. Why he hasnt left this market for bigger and badder things i'll never know.

I wonder why it seems that the "live" show format seems to work in some markets (NY/LA/Houston) and bomb in others??

I know. It was management at the time and the PosTex production staff who had no idea how to use Gordo.

With a great producer the man could do network television easily. But Gordo would have to respect that person enough to take a "no" every now and then.

I totally agree, he ranks up there in a corolla/kimmel sense of humor with alot of energy. Why he hasn't leave the confines of dallas, i'll never know

Probably because Susquehanna knows that if he left, the Ticket would suck. That's why they pay him the BIG bucks. If he left the Ticket or worse yet was ever fired, imagine the backlash at the Ticket.
