More Classic Country

The WBCB Levittown morning show is now playing a lot of classic country - Cash, Haggard, etc. sometimes 3 in a row in the 7am hour. I haven't been able to listen long enough to hear if they are also playing other genres of music, too, although I heard them call the show the "Radio Ranch" (memories of KFDI in Wichita, Kansas and the "Rittenhouse Ranch" or WRCP at 2043 Locust Street). This in addition to their weekend country shows Saturday afternoons & Sunday mornings. Pretty good little local station, some brokered stuff but still an hour of big bands a day & libertarian talk with Irv Homer, too! Thanks, Merryl Reese, for at least keeping an AM live & local.

I thought that it was an all-news morning format, similar to what 1260 WBUD has with Ken Wright. My second job is not far from WBCB, and the only time I really tune in is for the "Pro Wrestling Radio" show, and Bill Melody's "Country Music Hall".

You do have a point- it is a shame that you don't hear more classic country on the radio around here. WXTU used to have a show on Sunday mornings, but that was 10 years ago.

Those were the days.
