More competition for terrestrial radio

MUSIC RADIO FOR CELLPHONES
The Associated Press

Motorola unveiled an ambitious music-radio service for cellphones Tuesday that also plays over car and home stereos. Motorola iRadio, featuring 435 channels, would be sold by wireless service providers to their subscribers for $7 to $10 per month -- a few dollars cheaper than rival satellite-radio networks. Motorola expects that about 90 percent of its content to be loaded on phones from the Internet over a personal computer, rather than broadcast over the air, in this case a cellular network.

AMEN. More competition for terrestrial radio

About time there was some competition to force these clowns
to get serious with content and hopefully, the technical
delivery end of things too! (I'm alluding to the splatter
by 990 and the lax production atmosphere at 820.)
