More Cumulus stations streaming!

It's not official yet but all the Cumulus stations except WHBX 96.1 Jamz are streaming if you tweak the urls:

WBZE Star 98 (98.9)

mms://live.cumulusstreaming.com/WBZE-FM

WGLF Gulf 104 (104.1)

mms://live.cumulusstreaming.com/WGLF-FM

And this Star 98 is not hot AC like it's sister in Green Bay, WI. It sounds more of a bright AC. 100000watts.com and radio-locator both have it wrong.

Cumulus has put a great effort into their streaming. I know that FWB's stations have been giving away on-air spots when people buy the streaming.

Read it again.

One more time.

That's right, they're giving away the stuff with a decent spot rate to people who spend the 7.50 spot rate to get their 9 streamers. I'm assuming this has something to do with a regional directive.

Are you saying $7.50 is "the going rate" or is a "decent rate" more? Man, times have really changed since the 99 cent 30-seconders.
Care to say what are you guys charging these days? At least ball park, Sports fan?

Streaming is a big waste of time, energy and money. No ratings are ever gathered by those who "stream". So if Arbitron gives no credit or can't predict streaming patterns, how does a station or cluster benefit? No ratings, no revenue. Streaming is a waste of time from a business standpoint for radio.

You wanna stream? Buy or rent a canoe or kayak and head down the Withlocochee river. How's that for streaming??????????? ;D

The reason for this is, they are "renting space" (ad space) there was a hupla about the whole internet thing and ads. (and to this day, coast to coast am STREAMLINK still ads bumper music to their ads)

I don't know if *** got a deal from the RIAA to allow streaming or what?

The audio isn't the best (it's not recordable)
but for casual listening, it's fine.
