MORE CUTS AT CLEAR CHANNEL?

sounds to me, that clear channel will be automated, voice tracking or a sateliite radio broadcasting company. with very little of local personel. radio was good back then to listen to. local personel. no more. music programmed from new york, los angelos or somewhere else.

As I always liked to say, back when XM first came out FM would say we are "live and local" Now, they are just like XM. But FM sound quality is MUCH better.

Unless there is concrete information not locked behind some guy's blog, then I'm not sure we need to keep posting this over and over and over.

Unless you're a subscriber to the blog, that link only goes to a teaser. There's no there story there..... Not sure why it's even being posted.

And 3x in the past week, to boot. Shilling for membership to that web site, perhaps?

It's actually happening now :(

ALL ACCESS is hearing that the rumored CLEAR CHANNEL "reduction in force' is underway. It seems as if this is taking place primarily in the smaller markets, so far.

One outgoing programmer told ALL ACCESS, "They simply told me that programming would be delivered in a different manner, eliminating the need for my position."

CLEAR CHANNEL has been contacted for comment.

ALL ACCESS has a partial list of some of the names up now, they're going to wipe out some staffs...is it just my imagination or does CC always seem to do the heaviest cutting just before the holidays? ??? Merry Christmas, we don't need you anymore, what an organization :-[

Yeah, when I got laid off from CC, it was November of 2001. Of course, that was because of 9-11, or so they say.

Times like this are tough. Radio isn't what it used to be and it never will be.

More syndication Radio!! Good going CC San Antonio! Who cares about Local Radio and local weather and Local issues and local personalities. You think we're going to be just like lemmings and follow the syndication trail! No. Boycott CC Radio. Who needs them. Plenty of other stations and sources to get real live radio! Occupy Wall Street! Occupy CC!

There's a person with some integrity. He was not hired to fire people and refused to be the hatchet goon.

I would suggest a new name be tagged to CC, "Clear Corridors".

I want my airwaves back.

I am the public.

I want them returned NOW.

I also want to find the son of a bitch who GAVE MY property to Clear Corridors and the like.

I also know there's about as much chance of that happening as flying to the moon on a kite. But someone had to say it.

At this moment, I can't think of a single reason to listen to a Clear Corridors station.

After all, I've already got an iPod. Why do I need them?

You want a refund? Really?

To whom do you take this demand? The FCC? Ha!! They're auctioning off your beloved spectrum space to telecom companies for billions of dollars.

President Obama has built into his budget plan something called a spectrum fee. He proposed to charge radio companies money for their use of the spectrum. Guess how the companies are going to pay for his new fee.

Or you could vote for a Republican. They want to eliminate all federal regulations, and allow companies like these to do whatever makes the most money. And they want to get rid of non-commercial radio.

Yeah, I want my airwaves back. They never belonged to you in the first place.

Great point DallasBoyz. It is a business and a lot of people tend to forget that. Which is understandable because at times unfavorable business decisions effect good people.
