OK guys I forgot to mention back on Sunday June 14th as I was leaving the Wal Mart parking lot here in Escanaba Michigan I picked up WZOK 97.5 out of Rockford Illinois like clear as a local station! That station is a common visitor here though every year by tropo. Still a good catch. On the morning of Thursday June 18th I was listening for meteor scatter on 94.7 when a station playing Rihanna came in for a minute straight. I didn't identify the station but another station came in for another minute straight. The song got over and it was My 94.7 KVLL out of Corpus Christi Texas!! I am positive it was E skip and not meteor scatter cause it came in for a minute and we got hit with a huge E skip opening 30 minutes later that I posted about in the other thread from South Carolina and Georgia. On Friday morning the 19th I had tropo from 94.7 WLS from Chicago! 2 years ago I had a big tropo opening from Chicago! This time though I only got WLS and the rest of the dial was quiet. I had more tropo Saturday morning the 20th from CING 95.3 Hamilton Ontario! The station coming in underneath it was 95.3 KOKX Keukok Iowa! I have never received a station that far east by tropo! That was a record! I picked up a suspicious station on 97.9 playing 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins. Then it went right into a 70s song after. It wasn't WGRD out of Grand Rapids because they wouldn't play a 70s soft oldies song. It wasn't WSPT Stevens Point Wisconsin because they don't play anything later then 80s music. I suspect it was WLUP Chicago! Then this morning listening again for meteor scatter on 94.7 when I heard a second of Pearl Jam-Jeremy. I looked up any rock station on 94.7 on Radio locator and I clicked on every station to find out what they are currently playing. I clicked on KRBU out of Oklahoma City OK and sure enough they were currently playing Pearl Jam-Jeremy! That was a great catch by meteor scatter! Then I was driving up to my Grandma's house heading Northwest of Escanaba on M69 when surfing the Radio dial I noticed 93.7 was playing Sophie B Hawkins- Damn I wish I was your lover. The song got over and it identified itself as BOB FM playing what we want! I looked it up and it is WNOB from Chesapeake VA! It was fading in and out too so that was E skip and coming in strong when it came in! No skip on the rest of the dial which was unusual. Slow start to the season but a much better season then last year!
