More Es today! 5/26/14

Just when you thought Es was going to die down, it came back and brought me five new logs this morning! All times Pacific.

9:57AM - 88.9 KPRD Hays, KS; fading up over UNID K-LOVE (KYLV-OK?) with promo mentioning "for details, visit KPRD.org". NEW #209 to Yakima, 83KW, 1200 miles. First new KS in years!
9:58AM - 92.3 KEZO Omaha, NE; song match to "TNT" by AC/DC on playlist. NEW #210, 95KW, 1274 miles. First ever Omaha station on FM!
10:00AM - 88.7 KLNE Lexington, NE; nice signal with classical piece, weather forecast for the state of NE and ID "This is NET Radio....KLNE Lexington" into NPR News. NEW #211, 60KW, 1114 miles.
10:05AM - 92.1 KREP Belleville, KS; woman mentioning "12 miles west of Concordia" and an antique tractor show. NEW #212, 14.5KW, 1243 miles.
11:00AM - 88.7 KXNM Encino, NM; TOH ID, good signal, mentioning "This is KXNM". NEW #213, 18KW, 1142 miles.

RELOGS
11:25AM - 88.7 KNAU Flagstaff, AZ, man introducing Bach piece, playlist match, MONO signal even when strong. 914 miles, second time in 24 hours on this one.

adding another new one

1:37PM - 93.1 KLJZ Yuma, AZ; no ID, but I already know this is a Dial Global Hot AC station so I matched two songs I heard, "Ain't it Fun" Paramore and "Rolling in the Deep" to another Dial Global Hot AC station in Oregon with the same personalities. It's also the only really good satellite suspect (KPLV is local/voicetracked so it is not on this network). NEW #214, 100KW, 1011 miles.
At the same times I had relog 88.9 KNPR Las Vegas (770mi!) with Nevada Public Radio IDs and contribution messages.

Heard some tropo (or maybe aircraft scatter?) this afternoon on the Radio Shack "World Receiver" off its whip (it's RS's version of the Sangean ATS-505, has a decent FM section). A station faded up on 102.1, with a woman mentioning "Central Washington". Then it abruptly faded out. Probably KPQ-FM.

Yep you had KPQ Wenatchee on 102.1. 24/7 regular in Yakima and in Bothell it also used to be 24-7, there was some type of pipeline at my place. Monroe hardly ever picked up KPQ, ditto Marysville, it was mainly KSWW or K271AH.

Received XEPM-TV, Channel 2, from Juarez, Mexico yesterday afternoon around 4:30-5:30 PM. Received at Midvale (SLC), Utah, with a Delhi/Taco ZIP-5V VHF Antenna and a B-T FM Trap, running barefoot in to an RCA XL-100. Antenna is on the 3rd floor balcony, aimed SSW.
