107.9 just became La Kalle with a Latin CHR format, while 99.1 is now La Que Buena with regional Mexican.

Speaking of the topic, the traffickers are the ones bringing in the dough. Right now it's all about money - and making more.
When marketing directors start putting in the "spend money to make money" adage to good use again, things might accidentally get better. But... that would take a lot of teeth-pulling by legislators, commissioners, and listener protests alike to get THAT to happen.
So until then, we're stuck with the "what you get is what you've got" protocol for radio programming. It's not the best, but, like I just said there, "what you get is what you've got".
