From All Access Net News(June 23rd):

In a flurry of CTRC decisions, the Commission has granted four new FMs for the OTTAWA-GATINEAU market, with NEWCAP getting 88.5 FM(5.2KW) for an alternative rock station, CKMW RADIO LTD. getting 98.5 FM(700 Watts, AC-Adult Standards), RADIO NORD gets 96.5 FM in GATINEAU, QC for French Top40/Rhythmic(1.75KW, plus a separate repeater in the BUCKINGHAM section of GATINEAU at 107.5[250 Watts]), and JACK MCGAW and ROBERT STAPPELLS get a frequency to be named later for a low-power tourist information service.

Ok, it's (much) later...did that low power tourist information service ever surface?

Yest it did, it's been on for a year now, originally it was at 104.7, but when CJRC 1150 was given that frequency in it's move to FM Jack McGaw's station moved to 99.7. It's quite a useful station with frequent traffic reports during drive time, environment Canada weather broadcasts, street closures and construction reports as well as stock market and exchange rates. Yeah I guess you can tell I do listen once a day, for the 10 minutes to see what they're mentioning.
