The FCC has approved another massive frequency swap proposed by Ted Tucker.
Tucker's Vail station on 98.5 gets its community of license moved to Corona De Tucson which is a tiny settlement near the Pima County Fairgrounds. KRDX also has permission to move to 104.5.
Tucker's construction permit for 101.3 at Corona gets moved to Tanque Verde. If Tanque Verde exists, it is located along Tanque Verde Road, just east of the Tucson City Limits.
Tucker's construction permit for 103.7 at Lordsburg, N. M. gets moved to Vail, a distance of about 115 miles.
As backfill for the lost service to Lordsburg, new allotments are issued for Animas and Virden, N.M. Animas is reported to have a population of 200.
This thing got started two years ago when Cherry Creek Radio proposed to move KZMK in Sierra Vista to Tanque Verde, and Tucker came up with the above alternative proposal which the FCC liked better.
Does the FCC really believe anyone wants to serve Tanque Verde or Corona or even Vail?
If you'd like to see the cockeyed logic, look at
