Good for Radio World. I, for one, am glad to see that at least someone out there is representing the dry, technical, administrative, and above all well-behaved approach to our once-lively and soulful business. We don't have the balls we used to have (goat or otherwise -- Wolfman Jack is turning over in his grave), but at least we're all Sober and Professional. We're not an art, we're a Respectable Business! David Rehr must really like these guys. :p Now everybody sway and hum along (quietly, of course, and not the slightest bit out of tune... not even to harmonize) with the latest formulaic, zombifying CCM track that literally sounds like servitude and deference to our betters, whether on K Street or in the Vatican.

...OK, I realize I'm just rambling here, and showing my obvious bias, and probably pissing a lot of people off and being unduly irreverent. Channeling Jello Biafra at 9 in the morning with six gallons of Mountain Dew coursing through my system to keep me awake can only lead to trouble. But as ridiculous and childish as it may seem, I really, honestly do have my moments where I wonder what happened to the "soul" of it all, and I can hardly be the only one... especially since I'm barely old enough to remember any "good old days." Surely there has to be some way to redeem this business so it has a little LIFE in it again... a little of that je ne sais quoi... because its absence may well be why we're losing out to satellite radio, iPods, and other technological gadgets left and right. We need to bring back that "Pilot of the Airwaves" factor...
