More Jack

Both WCBS-FM, New York and WJMK, Chicago, two long time Infinity oldies stations flipped to Jack....CBS-FM apparently in the last hour or two.
Check out the NYC and Chicago boards for more.

Sure it's not Dallas news, but WOW!

Even though Infinity already has Jack in DFW does this mean that KLUV could also be flipping formats due to declining ad revenue for oldies stations?

Do you think flipping formats is really the answer? How are the other Infinity stations doing?

LA, NY, CHI all using a variation of the same Jack logo with a little "king" crown. Don't know what that means.

Wouldn't this be nice? ---> Scott Shannon blows up WPLJ, rechristens it WABC-FM and goes oldies!! They probably have the jingles down the hall since they bring them out every year for the AM's Memorial Day tribute to itself. Thing is, the station is a very healthy biller relative to their ratings. #20 in ratings, Top 10 in billing ($48M/yr).

NY Jack is still using the WCBS_FM slot on Radio@AOL. It sounds pretty good. Whiter, rockier than I would have guessed. They are definitely NOT targeting ethnic. Going for the suburbs like sister station K-Rock. Can they both live there? Very thin on prod elements right now. Running the same 2-3 stopset ins and outs.

No jocks in NY, but Chicago KEPT their staff? Huh? I thought it was almost a requirement that you go jockless to get the Jack franchise.

A "Jill" format has already popped up in suburban Los Angeles. Check the LA board.

Infinity has bigger problems to worry about than KLUV... KVIL for example.
______________
KVIL Highland Park
KVIL-FM Highland Park/Dallas-Fort Worth
Thanks for the memories Ron Chapman!
