The AP is reporting tonight that CBS's station in New York suddenly dropped their oldies format (like LA's Arrow) and now hopes the world will give a Jack! Some of the quotes from station management sound like the same quotes that came from KFMB's venerable program director, Tracy Johnson... Sounds like when they sell the format to a station they give them a whole bunch of prepacked things to say to the press.

Whaddaya all think?

The news about WCBs switching to Jack is old news already, it's been all over the New York, Boston and Variety Hits board.

As for the prepackaged things, that is an interesting development.
The JACK consultants have definately done a good job of leaving no stone unturned, and as a result, this is becomming a great success for them, they're going to make mucho bucks.

I remember when the first Jack opened in Canada and I thought "wow, good idea, I'd like to try that in the states." About 2 years later, look at all this.

Which I had an "IN" on this...
(sorry that my response is not more san diego related. I would point out that John Lynch had hinted in a Reader interview that he was thinking of doing the Jack format. Too bad he didn't...)
