More KTKT On Reel Radio

If you find old airchecks of any Tucson radio stations that were major players in the 60s, I'm sure Uncle Ricky would love to have them. Once donated you get a free subscription to the site also for your donations. It would be nice if someone had more airchecks of KFIF, those are very hard to find. Reelradio is a great site for listening to lots of airchecks from all over the country, and several from Tucson, especially KIKX and KTKT.

How impressive listening to Lee Poole, Johnny Rabbit on KTKT Channel 99.
I noticed the musical mix was similar to what Wolfman Jack would play in that 1970 time frame.
A little old skool stuff that would get Wolfman to occasionally do the "howl of the wolf" during an interlude. 8)

IIRC, wasn't "Johnny Rabbit" basically Lee Poole doing a Wolfman Jack voice/imitation/homage?

Johnny Rabbit was indeed Lee Poole, sounding much like Wolfman. In 1970 he moved to WYSL in Buffalo where he became Rufus Coyote with the same voice. He's back in his hometown of Yuma now and he's been out of radio for many years.

FYI I have sent KFIF airchecks to Uncle Ricky, and for whatever reason he has chosen not to post them to his site. He did post one of my KIKX airchecks to his site. If you don't have airchecks to donate to Reelradio.com, he asks for a small donation to access the airchecks. You can access the site and look around without being a member or donating, you just wont be able to listen to the airchecks.

I have sent airchecks as well and seen some of them posted - but the last I knew he was backlogged in converting from one format to another. Perhaps he is just busy.
