More local Shows leaving 770KKOB

Lets see they Dropped Coast to Coast for a cumulus product ( I know not loacl but a very popular show) and I hear rumblings that Some Local weekend shows and maybe even their Local Afternoon show may be going Bye Bye!
When The talk leader is all Syndicated will their Numbers go Down? lets face it Rush and Hannity are what Drives their Numbers after all. What say You? and if Nucci was to go What would they put on in his place? lets get some Chatter going on This Board.

On another Note we are geeting a GREAT response to The Oasis! What do you guys Think
 
Really?? How long ago did KKOB drop Coast to Coast?! Is there another Albuquerque station carrying it now? I used to listen to it all the time, but haven't listened much lately.

I'm going to school (not in New Mexico), but I've streamed The Oasis online while doing homework and I've enjoyed it. Good job. :)

It's still a lot better than some of the other programing on ABQ radio.
 
The Michael Savage show was replaced on 770 by Mark Levin, another Cumulus product, and now airs live on KIVA from 4P - 7P. On the first take, it looks like 770 and Cumulus are crazy, but actually they are "crazy like a fox". When they play a syndicated show from a network other than Cumulus Media, Like Premiere (Rush) or TRN (Savage), they are giving up a high percentage of that hour's inventory to the syndicator. But... when they run a Cumulus product like Mark Levin on a Cumulus station, Cumulus owns ALL of the hour's inventory between the Cumulus program and the local inventory. As for local, the Villanucci show is the lowest rated daypart share for 770. Why would they keep him? - how about that the show generates over 30 minutes an hour of local inventory? Don't need much of a host when he is crowded out by that kind of commercial load. That being said, I actually think the morning show at 770 is pretty good radio.

Rush and Hannity's acts are getting old I think. Would Huckabee fit in. I think so in today's political mood.

The Oasis is indeed a breath of fresh air in Albuquerque. You have some great talent on-the-air.


As for Nucci..I've not understood how those who pay him to endorse would stand for his rip and read
approach. And in certain cases, a real perceived disinterest. As for the show, it can be great at times, but topical "what do you think" phoners that keep it going, and a lot to times not interesting to the listener.
 
Bubba ca Nucci comes across has a person who is bored and not really engaged.
My guess is that he may also suffer from depression and could be bi polar.

He totally relies on his callers to carry his show,and up to now has gotten away with the approach.

103.7 is a real breath of fresh air.

Huckabee is a poor mans Paul Harvey.

Would 770 Drop Rush?
The pending launch of MIKE HUCKABEE's CUMULUS MEDIA NETWORKS show, now scheduled for an APRIL 9th debut, prompted a flurry of reports in the mainstream national press this weekend, with CUMULUS co-COO JOHN DICKEY telling the WALL STREET JOURNAL that while his stations would "honor" its contracts to carry PREMIERE NETWORKS' RUSH LIMBAUGH, he would not rule out switching to HUCKABEE in the future, adding, "we are in favor of eating our own cooking."

What do you think he gets like a 23 share and id the show that keeps 770 on top So what do you think or Might they drop Villanucci and put Huck in Afternoon Drive???
 
Radio bingo or a trading post show would be better than Villaochi
 
Jim Vallanucci is the greatest. Any attempt to substitute tape delayed products from Cumulus will prove disastrous for KKOB ratings, given Jim's ratings and longetivity.
 
I actually find Jim to be quite boring for the past few years. He is living off of past fame and mails in half his shows with the ever popular
