And what about the Bee Gees/Snoop one? Is that a sample of a Bee Gees song? Maurice isn't alive anymore so the Gibbs couldn't actually do a live hook very well.

The song contains a sample of "Love You Inside And Out" by the Bee Gees. But as far as I can tell, it's just the sample. They don't sound like they're in the studio.

Corey Clark?? WTF.. Which rhythmic stations are actually playing this one???

> Common Featuring John Mayer, "Go"

Actually, it features Kanye West. Pretty good track, but may not do quite as well.

> DJ Quik Featuring B Real, "Fandango"

Haven't heard it.

> Pretty Ricky, "Your Body"

Don't want to hear it.

> Baby Bash, "Super Saucy"

So-So. A little annoying.

> Corey Clark, "Out Of Control"

DEcent, but not top 10 for a first hit.

> DMX, "Give 'Em What They Want"

It'll be big.

> Tyra Featuring Penelope, "Get No Ooh Wee"

Haven't heard it.

> Big Gemini, Rob G & Play-N-Skillz, "Latinos Stand Up"
> The Dirty South Divas, "Look Back At It"'
> NB Ridaz, "4 Ever"

All of those above ^ I haven't heard yet.

> Natasha Beddingfield, "These Words"

This IS NOT a CHR/Rhythmic song. If it really is climbing, it will do horrible. CHR/Pop ONLY.

> Gorillaz Featuring De La Soul, "Feel Good Inc."

Umm...no.

> Snoop Dogg Featuring The Bee Gees, "Ups & Downs"

It's an okay song. Not even near as good as earlier singles.

> Daddy Yankee, "Lo Que Paso, Paso"

Huh? Who played this?

> Young Jeezy Featuring Mannie Fresh, "And Then What"

It's ok. Not the best song; fair airpaly.

> Shakira Featuring Alejandro Sanz, "La Tortura"

No.

How about some real new rhythmic tracks:

Ying Yang Twins - Badd
Tank - I Love Them Girls
Jermaine Dupri - Gotta Getcha
R. Kelly/Game - Playa's Only
Paul Wall/Big Pokey - Sittin Sidewayz
Rihanna - Pon De Replay
Fantasia - Free Yourself
Play N Skillz - Let Em Go
Bobby Valentino - Tell Me
Boyz N Da Hood - Dem Boyz
Mariah Carey - Shake It Off
Sonny - Elevate

Sorry RobertMoore. Usually I agree with you on the rythmic tracks, but this is the accurate list. Some of the ones you posted were new rythmic tracks to watch out for, but others were totally inaccurate.

Okay so our list is different. But sometimes some of those new songs I posted on this board do end up becoming hits anyway, including those that cross over from other charts[Both WWKL/Harrisburg and WTWR/Toledo are playing Natasha Beddingfield, which might do well at some of Pop-friendly Rhythmics].

Plus I already posted Rihanna and Boyz 'N Da Hood a few threads down as new Rhythmic tracks.

However I do expect Rihanna, Carey, Valentino, Dupri, Kelly, Akon's "Belly Dancer(Banaza)," Ying Yang Twins, Bow Wow and Tank to be guaranteed top 10 by July.

KPRR/El Paso

KZFM/Corpus Christi

> Common Featuring John Mayer, "Go"
urban Chicago radio yes, rhythmic radio maybe

> DJ Quik Featuring B Real, "Fandango"
west coast anthem

> Pretty Ricky, "Your Body"
riding on the success of "grind on me"

> Baby Bash, "Super Saucy"
future southwest anthem

> Corey Clark, "Out Of Control"
wack

> DMX, "Give 'Em What They Want"
needs to retire

> Tyra Featuring Penelope, "Get No Ooh Wee"
south urban maybe, rhythmic radio-hell no

> Big Gemini, Rob G & Play-N-Skillz, "Latinos Stand Up"
southwest anthem

> The Dirty South Divas, "Look Back At It"'
future south urban hit

> NB Ridaz, "4 Ever"
major southwest radio spins

> Natasha Beddingfield, "These Words"
not a rhythmic hit, needs a remix

> Gorillaz Featuring De La Soul, "Feel Good Inc."
rock radio

> Snoop Dogg Featuring The Bee Gees, "Ups & Downs"
will probably be hit in Europe

> Daddy Yankee, "Lo Que Paso, Paso"
Hurban

> Young Jeezy Featuring Mannie Fresh, "And Then What"
This will be a hit 5 months from now

> Shakira Featuring Alejandro Sanz, "La Tortura"
Hurban

> Common Featuring John Mayer, "Go"
Too urban for Rhythmic. Might do well on B96, but outside of that I wouldn't expect anything

> DJ Quik Featuring B Real, "Fandango"
Again, too urban for the format. Might get some mix-show airplay, but not much otherwise.

> Pretty Ricky, "Your Body"
Gonna be a SMASH! They will continue to crank out hits, but don't expect them to be around next summer.

> Baby Bash, "Super Saucy"
SUPER SMASH FROM A SUPERSTAR! If you're not playing it yet, you're missing the boat...

> Corey Clark, "Out Of Control"
Records like this are the reasons radio sucks to the average listener.

> DMX, "Give 'Em What They Want"
Someone in the thread said, "HE NEEDS TO RETIRE..." I second that.

> Tyra Featuring Penelope, "Get No Ooh Wee"
Gonna be a mid-charter at Rhythmic, very pop sounding hip-hop record.

> Big Gemini, Rob G & Play-N-Skillz, "Latinos Stand Up"
Could be big with Latin leaners, but with the population of lations increasing market by market more rhythmic stations should go out on a limb to play records like this.

> The Dirty South Divas, "Look Back At It"'
Not heard it yet.

> NB Ridaz, "4 Ever"
Gonna be big in the southwest, but they are so hit and miss, so to speak, with their records, i'm still on the fence.

> Natasha Beddingfield, "These Words"
The comments about this record amaze me. This record is the perfect POP crossover records for this format. It will break up the crunk, besides it's truly hip hop. Which by definition is a mixture of lyrical rhyming and melodic singing. This would be big at this format, but only if programmers quit thinking of themselves as urban stations.

> Gorillaz Featuring De La Soul, "Feel Good Inc."
Will be big at POP, might chart at Rhythmic but don't expect any surprises.

> Snoop Dogg Featuring The Bee Gees, "Ups & Downs"
LOVE THIS RECORD! But it's not ready for the air yet, they still have an edit or two to do...

> Daddy Yankee, "Lo Que Paso, Paso"
Again, where latins are in great numbers, you can't go wrong.

> Young Jeezy Featuring Mannie Fresh, "And Then What"
Not bad, good night record.

> Shakira Featuring Alejandro Sanz, "La Tortura"
Hurban. Amen.

Some records that weren't mentioned that should be looked at,

Fatty Koo - Bounce - F-ING SMASHOLA! Written, Produced and Sung for this format.

Marcos Hernandez - If You Were Mine - With the successes of Frankie J and Baby Bash as well as the latina ballads from Natalie and Amanda Perez, this record will be VERY VERY BIG. play it once, you'll see.

Javier - Dance For Me - One Word, HIT!

David Banner - Play - Very similar to Ying Yang's WAIT, but that was so big that you can't ignore this one.

Miri-Ben Ari - Jump and Spread Out - SO VERY DIFFERENT, that it's appealing to the air. I'm on the fence about it, but might wanna check it out.

Pras - Haven't Found - I know alot of Rhythmic stations had early success with it, but being #1 most added last week at Pop, makes me re-visit this one.

I haven't really been a part of many of the threads in this forum, so if you guys have discussed these records before, please stop me. ENJOY!

We welcome any and all comments, Jet! BTW I heard your station on the net and it's THA BOMB! The BEAT is really bangin' in T-Town!

"Both WWKL/Harrisburg and WTWR/Toledo are playing Natasha Beddingfield, which might do well at some of Pop-friendly Rhythmics."

Both of which are Cumulus stations with an identity crisis... If I'm not mistaken, Jan Jeffries is the consultant for both stations, which should say something to you.

I absolutely despise the Natasha Bedingfield record... Not a hit at Pop, won't be a hit at Rhythmic. Sorry.

Although, I do agree with what Jet Black said above about it drawing from the "hip hop" culture... Somebody else said "it needs a remix," which could be the case.

But, my point is, if you base your "hit" selection on what a Cumulus "CHR" is playing, be ready for a fight... Neither consultant in that company truly knows CHR.
