More on Earl's "Revolution"

OK, I hate to admit, I really like this station, goofy liners and all. Love the music mix. Like somebody mentioned before, it sounds like Citadel is having a lot of fun with it.

Over the weekend I heard the "revolution" references ad nauseum. Makes you wonder if the station is going to flip, but didn't Earl just grace us with his presence back in October? Earl's 12+ numbers looked pretty bad (don't have access to the other age breakouts) in the latest trend, and trailed Jack if I recall correctly.

With the Spring survey period about to begin, I wonder if Citadel thinks it is the right time to flip - even though it seems so soon - or are we maybe looking at an April Fool's prank or minor tweak to the station?

Wait a minute, you don't mean that they're going to flip 98.7 back to Wild 98.7 again do you. Surely they've got better sense then that. That station got blown out of the water by Hot a long time ago. Bringing it back now isn't going to make it any better. But, I haven't seen the numbers the stations pulled in this last time and don't know where they rank, but from the way it sounds Earl is lower than Wild was on it's worst day.

ok. The more I think about it, they say "The Earl Revolution" is coming, so it has to do something with the station as it is now. They're also running a new liner that says to sign up for the Earl Revolution and make Earl-FM #1 in the workplace. I'm thinking it might be some kind of contest or something that the station is going to do. If Earl does do a contest, it will probably have to be through their website though since there are no DJ's. It would be very interesting though to hear that station with live DJ's. There's so many great songs that haven't been played in Knoxville in so many years. It would be great to have someone tell us who some of those forgotten artists are. I've got a feeling that this Earl Revolution thing, whatever it is, will take place on April 1st - April Fool's Day.

Hey, I don't know anything concrete here about Earl. I'm about 95% sure they aren't flipping. I heard a couple of months ago that they were planning on addiding at least a local show in time for the spring book, so April 1st seems like a logical time to start.

Although, if I had to guess based on the "personality" of the station, I'd say 98.7 will offer something totally off-the-wall for April Fools Day and start the "Revolution" on Monday the 3rd.

The Wild comment was just to stir things up, a reprint of someone else's comment to me. Although wimzfan failed to see the humor in it. Based on how dead this board has been for awhile, I was hoping it might at least spark some sarcastic discussion.

I do have to give you credit, that was a good one. After I posted the reply, then I realized that you were joking. I figured it was some type of pre-April fools comment. :)
