More on my CNBC 3 Web Channel Idea.....

Okay, now that we're on the right forum for this, here's what I think will happen to the Current TV website IF Comcast/NBC buys Current TV (For those who don't know, I mentioned it in the 2013 PREDICTIONS thread on the National TV board)

First off, I believe this is where The Young Turks With Cenk Uygur would end up calling home

The site will be rebranded as CNBC 3. The purpose of the site would be to give viewers a platform to host THEIR OWN news or political show. People could do this for free (Supported by ads of course) or people could sign up for a paid package (The more you pay, the more you get)

Basically put, here's how the package breakdown would look like.....

FREEBIE USERS - Shows supported by ads which would play before the start of the stream (Just like any stream from Justin TV, BlogTV or Twitch TV would). Users get NO production staff, access to political contributors or news staff (These users would have to furnish that on their own). Access to elected officials would have to be at the discretion of those officials. These users would also not get a crew of co-hosts either (They would have to furnish this on their own also just like Internet Radio shows do)

Freebie users would only be granted a text link to their broadcast page just like many live streaming porn sites offer (It can be an affiliate link for revenue sharing purposes). The page would be editable to allow for such things as the embedding of HTML Widgets & other things which would not be in direct competition with the service and the like. The URL would be of the typical subdomain kind - usernamne.cnbc3.com, archived shows (Up to 90 days. Afterward the user will get to download them as FLV or MP4 files & archived elsewhere if the user so chooses)

TOP PACKAGE USERS - Would get to have their own advertising, placement, full access to contributors, news staff, production staff, co-hosts, etc.....etc.....etc. They would also get to distribute their stream any way they want. While the broadcast page URL would be of the typical subdomain kind - usernamne.cnbc3.com, these people can put the player anywhere on the web they want, archived shows (Unlimited)

ALL USERS Would get a broadcast page (Again with the URL being of the typical subdomain kind - usernamne.cnbc3.com) & revenue sharing opportunities (See below), archived shows (Depending on package)

These revenue sharing opportunites would consist of Tokens (Which viewers can buy & use - The more they tip, the more they like you), a "Follow" system so you get a core group of regular viewers who are likely to tune in, a Facebook LIKE button, a Twitter TWEET button, a Rewards Program (Similar to that of Live365), a banner exchange & more I can't even think of

Viewers would get a vote system to judge you using the star system (1 for HORRIBLE 5 for WONDERFUL)

The best part of the whole idea is you not only get to try to outwit & outsmart the MSNBC hosts but you also GET A PLATFORM IN WHICH TO DO IT ON !!!!!

Finally, if you can prove you have what it takes - YOU JUST MIGHT GET A GIG ON MSNBC !!!!!

I'd LOVE for Fox News to try to claim to have this level of viewer interaction.....

Thoughts?

Cheers & 73 :D
