If you tuned in today, they did address the rumor of Live 105 and Alice. Jv said he did not think that the chances were likely because the PD at Live does not like them and is a friend of M&M.

Also, Jv said that M&M smeared the Doghouse name across the board whenever he had the chance, which could explain why there were so many posts about how they were hard to work with, rebels, etc...

According to even other shows on the station, The Doghouse has had by far the most calls and probably listening audience of the entire station. It could be just the other jocks on the station or themselves tooting their own horn, but the numbers at Wild dropped dramatically and will continue to.

Jvsworld.Com will be updated Monday with a huge bashing of that other station.

Your thoughts...

If you really think the statements about Doghouse being hard to work with were b.s., then you've never worked with or around them. Bet they're bein' real nice right now though.

R-I SF Board In The "Doghouse"?

When they say "the board", do they mean THIS one? Do the Almighty Dogs (haha) actually read this board? Or perhaps, post on it defending themselves?

(Stranger things have happened, even on my own "home" R-I board!)

We bow to them. We are not "worthy".

Oh, we're worthy. Trust me.

This makes me question even more all of the "hit and run" posts over the past few months by members that come in, throw one or two messages ("Is the Dog House headed for [fill in station here]? Word is the contract is on the table! Watch [station] to flip from Romanian Folk Songs to CHR in the near future!") ... and then disappear forever.

I know that The New Edgy Hip John London either reads this board, or one of his underlings does -- he made several snotty comments about the "one or two radio geeks" hanging out in the chat rooms that were the only listeners that 106.9 Free (And Worth Every Penny Of It) FM had on its first few days.

Note to Edgy Hip John London: I thought that your "I Hate Broads" parody song the other day was simply brilliant. A few months of that and I think you'll prove conclusively that the reason you got fired from KNBR was that the GM and PD didn't know great radio when they heard it. You're all about great radio, pal.

Hey DJ you are correct sir...

NOW Mr. London, With the copius ammounts of time you have available, how about some more of that! I mean NO Spots, very few promos except for Carrola's, which is very inspired and obvoiusly not the work of Ken Kohl, You've got tons of time to fill.

I missed your tirade about Agnew and Salvadore, but "I" know you were correct. Agnew once told me he was a graduate Of Career Acadamy of Broadcasting...One of those " Give Us a Grand and will say your a Broadcaster Schools of the early 70's" I started laughing, BUT he was serious, Really...

What HE did Major in was being a No Talent Bully who would do anything to Keep his job...And someone who is VERY threatend by talent. "Yes Sir Mr. Tony Sir"...When you approve anything the sales dept puts in front of you, and the bottom line is nice and plump... your a sucess...He should be fine at CC. He's their perfect manager...Talentless and Flexable.

When I walked into his office at KNBR it was wall to wall cieling to floor
sports cards, pennants, pix of him with Jocks at Golf Tourns. and Two Name plates on his Desk Bob Agnew Program Director and Bob Agnew Operations Director and two sets of business cards to go with it. My 13 year old son's room was more business like...Do you recognize that office John?

My point Mr. London, and I think DJ's too, Go for it! if there are really NO rules. The market needs more broadcasters...With Talent that knows good radio...There is an audience that recognizes it, and hopefully management
that gets out of the way and lets it happen.

Good Luck John...Carpe Radio Station ! Bad latin, Good Idea.

Radio Geeks To John London

Well, we may be "radio geeks", but...

EVERYONE in the business reads these boards. (And boards like them.) And that goes from the news sections to the message boards to the gossip. Anyone remember a site called "RadioReady"? It made even the quasi-anonymous nature of Radio-Info look tame. It made AllAccess' Net Talk look like a gentleman's club.

RadioReady had a "gossip board" - basically like Net Talk, but with no usernames or identification attacked.

One day, some lesser light went after my then-station for a major scheduling change, and started throwing nasties up about the woman who'd moved into morning drive...a woman who'd done mornings at a CHR FM across town at one point.

She was in the studio, reading that very attack on her, when I walked into the studio and she called me to look at the computer screen. She was then heartened by a defense of her - which I'd actually posted, but didn't tell her. :)

EVERYONE reads these boards. They may tire of them because of some of the childish antics that sometimes happen here (and so do I), but they read at least occasionally.

On my "home" market board, I'd hazard a guess that everyone from GMs/VPs/Cluster Managers to PDs to air talent to weekend board ops read the board from just about every cluster in the region. I've gotten private response from a lot of these folks, and when I walked into one of these clusters a ways back, half the staff recognized my R-I login name. :D

One reason people in the business read boards like this - especially the on-air types, they've got the usual Large Egos, and just have to read what people are writing about them... the off-air types read to see if they can find out any dirt on the competition, I'd guess.

Rant mode, off.
