Yeah I am making an air check of her 3 hours. I will upload it sometime this evening. The voice change made a huge difference.

I took most of her breaks from today and put them all together in an aircheck. The voice change happens around 5:15

I had to slow down Denise's voice a lot cause I wanted to make sure everyone understood her including the people who are slow listeners. I personally like her to speak a little faster. I noticed when she speaks a little faster she sounds a little more natural. However that is my opinion.

Just listened to the aircheck...

I've got many voices like that on my computer, some even sound better. But the idea was a good one.

if what she has to say has to be writen in advance it will take away spontinaty and heart from radio broadcasting.

the criticisms for the artifical inteligence djs would probally mirror yours if someone else besids you bought the use of denese and your job was in danger because of it.

Well that's it. I officially give up.

I've banged my head against the Austin market for ten years and got nothing better than traffic or PT jock. I only had one PD even take me seriously as a talent. After ten years of trying to get PD's to even listen to a demo and watching them hire their buddies for or VT the rare openings, and after 8 years of 4:00 AM wakeups, I'm too tired to keep it up.

I've jsut reached the epiphany of self awareness that I must not be as talented as I thought (at least not talented enough for the Austin market) and any gig I might have been able to find at a marginal or small market station just got eliminated by Denise.

I think it's time to go back to school and find something better to do. I still love radio and will continue to listen, but I give up the dream and go in search of another.

Don't be too hard on yourself, Kevin. Talent doesn't count for much anymore in a business that's been taken over by the bean counters and PPM. To make any really good money in radio anymore, you've got to be a "super talent" like Bobby Bones. But you have to wonder how long will it be before Denise (or someone like her) replaces Bobby?
