Apparently Atlantic Coast isn't the only group making changes in Portland. The R-I front page is indicating that Nassau will makes some swaps of its own - W-Bach moves off of both 99.3 and 106.3 to consolidate on the York County-based 104.7, while 106.3 becomes the new southern half of "The Bone," and 99.3 becomes a simulcast of WTHT.
Expanding the range of WTHT - given their recent success in the last book - probably isn't a bad idea, but will 99.3's addition make any real difference? 99.9's signal is good down at least to Biddeford, but the areas south of there are a tough battleground for a country station. Even if the Portland market technically goes down to the New Hampshire line, Southern York County and the areas over to Sanford are undeniably WOKQ's territory. Even though a resurrected WRED would be a more appreciated use of the frequency, more country will probably pay the bills just fine.
