More ratings troubles with the CBS Evening News

For the first time since Katie Couric became anchor, CBS EVENING NEWS is down compared to a year ago, falling 4% from 8.069 to 7.758 million last week among total viewers, and the program also declined 9% among adults 25-54 from last year's 2.2 to a 2.0 rating last week... It's starting to look more and more like Katie will be hosting CBS's The Early Show before too long. This seems to be more her speed than the Evening News. The way she handles "Breaking News" makes you want to scream. I wonder if she will be handling the reporting of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding this weekend. Guess she will be harping on this next Monday since she is so fond of Mr. Tom Cruise and she got to show off Tomcat's and Kat's baby on her first CBS newscast.

Hope there are no plans of Katie replacing Bob Barker on The Price Is Right. That would be a travesty if that happens. In fact,she is a travesty anyway you look at it. LOL!!!
 
Agreed...she should've went to their third place morning show. Maybe it finally would've got attention?

Yes,this seems to be more of her speed than anything else that she has ever done. She was more of a newscaster when she was with CNN when she first started out than she is now. If CBS wants to save millions of their investment,let Katie host The Early Show and make her head of their entertainment department on top of that,bring back Bob Schieffer or John Roberts to host the Evening News. There are better ways to handle this now debacle than to watch an entertainment host handle evening news. And that is what she was when she was with The Today Show. I bet CBS is kicking themselves for letting Katie host The Evening News.

How long has she been hosting the program? Exactly.

It hasn't been a year. So comparing how the show was a year ago, when she wasn't anchor, shows more cluelessness of these people spewing this garbage. When she's been in the chair a year, then it's valid to compare.

OH by the way...John Roberts left CBS several months ago.
 
It isn't shocking that the viewers have gone down, because the quality has gone down.
Bring back Bob!
