More Rich Teeter at WCRN

WCRN has added “Teeter on the Edge” with Rich Teeter every Friday from 1 – 3 p.m. in place of the Laura Ingraham show. He is still doing his weekly roving radio raconteur shtick with Peter Blute but it now appears he will be paired with Blute on Thursday’s now (previously Friday).

Rich was joking this morning that pulling the double duty last Friday lead to a very hoarse voice when he got home. Apparently his wife was grateful for the “lost” voice but he decided that he would move his weekly visit with Peter to Thursday’s to reduce the chance for a repeat occurrence.

I also noticed that WCRN now has the Savage Nation weeknights after Howie. There are spots for a new show on overnights called the Radio Detective but I’m not sure when it airs. It took forever for WCRN to relaunch their website and apparently it takes even longer to keep it updated properly.

I am glad to hear about Teeter's new show. I wasn't sure if last week was a one shot. I heard him on Tuesday talking Worcester Elections. I assumed it was a wall to wall election coverage deal. Then I heard him with Peter last Firday promoting his new show. I listened in, the first half hour was clunky, but after that he got it rolling.. Will Teeter on the Edge be Friday only? Does the Laura Ingraham show have to run out her contact beforeTeeter is an everyday deal? She is in replay mode on WCRN yes? I hope Teeter is an everyday show soon. We could use a live local program during the day. He is a good lead in to Howie, similar sense of humor, and not afriad to push people's buttons. Good move CRN.

I am tuning in today to "Teeter On The Edge" but I did miss hearing him on Blute's show this morning.

I was listening to the beginning of the Peter Blute show this morning and Hank Stolz mentioned my comments about Rich Teeter without referencing radio-info. He just mentioned how DavidZ was probably disappointed that Teeter wasn't on this morning to make comments about the topic they were discussing.

Apparently many radio insiders peruse these boards to see what is being said about their station.

So Hank, has Chris updated the website yet with all of the program changes? ???

I've been wondering whether Rich is being prepared so Hank can be thrown out the door like all but one of his predecessors, whether Rich is buying the time, whether he's an actual WCRN employee or whether he's an "Independent Contractor."

The Carberrys have almost got the station back to full speed. It's now changing programs almost as quickly as when it was Religious! God, I love those Carberrys. The best entertainment in the broadcasting business. Rich will really know he's hit the big time when he gets the invitation to K.C. Farm at Cedar Ridge for the nickel tour. Godspeed to Rich and all the people at WCRN.

I don't know what you can learn from it, but I heard Teeter on the air thanking the guys at CRN "for giving him a chance to do a show" I guess that "giving" means he isn't paying for the time. He thanked Blute and Hank for their involvement and support so I doubt the conspiracy. He has been funny and edgy with Blute and perhaps the higher ups are trying to build on that, by the way Hank is the PD so again I doubt the conspiracy.

I also like the bumper voice guy. The show was yet again clunky in the first half hour Friday. But he got it rolling after that. Rich is at his best with guests and callers. He is quick but never combative. Let's hope CRN Mgmnt let's the show grow, I think it could be a good one.

I listened in to The Peter Blute Show today and while promoting Teeter on The Edge for tomorrow Teeter and Blute kept joking about the show last week and an ugly first half hour. Maybe David Z is right that these guys are checking out the boards. I said clunky not ugly.

maybe blute listened and thought it was ugly...Teeter said that whatever the problem was, the problem was solved

Yes it seemed to have been solved yesterday's show was Palin heavy but neither ugly or clunky, Maybe Teeter is ugly.

Teter has a blog on Telegram.com where he spells his name "Teter"

Yes I see that I have spelled his name wrong. Teter based part of his show today on the blog at Tand G, funny things he was thankful for and listeners called in with theirs. Funny

He also had a trio of guests helping him find out why Worcester is a Hell hole -his words- The mayor and a couple homeless assistance guys. Then Peter Blute called with what actually was breaking news about Tiger Woods;1st the accident and then that Woods will be brought up on charges. Blute said has a friend at the P.G.A.. Blute suggested that Tiger was tired from the stuff in Turkey, Teter thought he meant hashish. Blute meant triptethane ( sp?) I like the show more each week.

Speaking of the Telegram in this weekend's Opinion Letters a well known Worcester lunatic who has been banned from calling by every station in the area for his racial slurs homophobic rants and anti- semetic tirades actually got a letter in taking shots at Teter. Before reading this remember I have been a fan of Teter since he started coming on with Peter Blute and I listen to his new show. I have never heard anything even remotley close to what is described in this letter. Given the fact that Teter writes for the T and G and talks with the web editor from the T and G website when he is on with Blute, I can't believe they let this letter in. Blute said this morning that the guy who wrote the letter has had a beef with Teter since his days at WRKO and WEEI. So under the guise of a opinion on talk radio this letter takes a shot a Teter. Nice going Telegram and Gazette.
